Here's the last of the series I started over the summer
Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 24-26! the end. Yes, my interest in this anime kinda died when they strayed too far from the manga into nonsense-ville. The anime writers forgot many of the plot points from the early manga-canon episodes. Advice to those interested in watching this anime: do not read the manga and expect a scrambled egg of an ending. The separation from the manga was definitely worse than Full Metal Alchemist's anime ending. Anyway, Miharu/Shinrabanshou turns into a giant (yes, a giant) and poof. Then the writers decide to draw out the last episode with nothing, but a big depressing finale.
~6/10 rating~ for a pretty animation style and interesting ninja-in-modern-day story was tons of potential. I'm more disappointed in how the end was handled in this series than with Macross F. I'm thankful the manga is still running.

Nabari no Ou 23! For animation that cuts corners and a story that cuts everything else, the action has a nice touch to it; the character design never falters. In this episode everyone gathers and fights. It's a mess of a story. It's sad that we will never get to see Yukimi investigate Yoite's background. Hm, hand-through-stomach attack is very effective.
Photobucket
Soul Eater 22! Along with Code Geass, this show is one that keeps getting more exciting each week. Kid and Black Star have a nice and funny fight scene. And then we get to an almost gruesome scene as frog-girl and wolf-boy get closer to the Kishin. Eep..with the biting off of faces.

Photobucket
Antique 10! is about the kidnapper whose motives are made clearer. Tachibana's initial reaction to Ono's confession was also made clearer.

Macross F 22! While Ranka is braving off to unknown alien bug territory, was that pity-smut that Alto and Sheryl were engaging in? They cut away, but since the whole episode was blech, I'm assuming it was. Secretary-robot squeezing herself was a bit perverse and just blech.

Nabari no Ou 22! tedious...looking at the climactic chapter 50, the anime has gone severely downhill since straying from the manga. They definitely should have taken a break at episode 13 or something since the manga looks so close to the end. Oh noes...Yoite. :((
Photobucket
Code Geass R2 20! Gotta love random plot twists...though maybe the hairstyle should have given it away? Also, gotta love the Knight of One's sword. too obvious? yeah right. (btw, Knight of One x Super-Maid would be a hot couple.)

All the other episode 20's, a 21 and an 8 )

I wish the Borders/Amazon partnership hadn't went away. C'mon, Borders' online prices and inventory stink next to Amazon. Anyway, went to the bookstore to browse a new short novel and 'likely in store' is an unacceptable inventory status. Don't you use computers to scan inventory? So, it's not in the section it says it should be at, and it's not on an endcap or display table...so where is it 'likely' to be? eh, maybe should have asked someone, but a big otaku-ish salesperson was spouting off the virtues of manga to some customers, and it didn't seem like she'd stop anytime soon. ~So I went home to eat a donut. mmm.

Have a manga post coming up...mmm donuts..I mean, manga.
Photobucket
Natsume Yuujinchou 7! I thought the little gay kitsune boy from xxxHolic was cute, but this little kitsune girl is even more so. (edit) ACK! thought my listening comprehension was getting better, but I missed the fact that SHE was a BOY!!! I guess the whole white hat and girly outfits threw me off. I don't think I could ever get tired of this show. It's so pleasant.

Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 20! The prettiness of the animation almost makes up for the uselessness of the story so far. But just when you think nothing is happening, the last 5 minutes stir things up. Since the manga hasn't actually revealed much, it'll be interesting to see what the writers invent to finish up this series.

Photobucket
L'Arc~en~Ciel's Nexus/4 PV has them jamming on the ledge of a skyscaper. The PV has some nice landscape shots and the song is a typical laruku summer tune. I'm glad their next single will not have any P'unk songs. ^___^
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 18! While the emo was tolerable before, it reaches taxing heights in this episode. I suppose having what looks like dead limbs can make one emo quite a bit. This show keeps proving that it is a boy-love series...the Naruto kind.

This fall looks a bit crowded already~
Hakushaku to Yousei: based on a light novel...The main female and male characters look like your typical fantasy shoujo-types, but the cat?! Totally watching for the huge cat character.
Yozakura Shijuusou ~Yozakura Quartet~: splash image and summary look intriguing.
Kuro Shitsuji: somewhat reminds me of Suteki Tantei Labryinth, but it's very different...maybe it's just the mysterious butler and young charge factors that are similar.
Nodame Cantabile Paris-hen: The anime isn't as nice as the jdrama, but the comedy is usually solid enough to entertain.
Gundam 00 season two: need more Alleluia and Lockon..even if he is six feet under. Setsuna's character song is titled 'SOUP'?
Junjou Romantica 2: makes me laugh.
Vampire Knight Guilty: I doubt I will be able to stand another season of this, but could be laughably bad again.
Photobucket
Macross F 17! I think overkill is just around the corner for Ranka's Seikan Hikou song, but we get treated to Macross 7 music a few times in this episode. I guess this show is taking a more positive approach to mech shows unlike Gundam and Code Geass. Ozma was totally on the cutting board until the last 2 minutes. Tricksies writers.

Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 17! Yukimi who without anything special is probably the best ninja out of all of them. He also seems to be the kindest and most level-headed one. Yoite falls into emo darkness which leaks into the next episode.

Soul Eater 17! was a filler with Excaliber...who was cute before, but not so much the second time around.

Natsume Yuujinchou 4! Natsume helps out a classmate. Nyanko-sensei can turn into a girl. who knew.
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 16! Miharu and Yoite head out on their own to get Banten's scroll. Not much action, but I'm enjoying the story developments. I like the new ending better than the first.

Photobucket

Macross F 16! The government uses Ranka's Aimo song to attack the Vajra. The next episode is titled 'Goodbye Sister'. Subtle, right? The new ending reminds me of Ayumi Hamasaki.
Photobucket
Code Geass R2 15! can't wait til C.C. rediscovers Pizza Hut. This episode reveals C.C.'s background story, and the geass contract which vaguely reminded me of Tokyo Babylon. *spoilers* She has one of two true wishes--to die or to know true love. I think the 'to die' part is what is clearly perceived...but the second is extrapolated by her original geass problems.

Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 15! Have to admit that Koichi is getting even more interesting. Um, they are fast running out of manga material...*cries* Another unfinished story.

Photobucket
Macross F 15! was mostly a flashback with 'mysterious' voices narrating. There was a musical scene where Ranka and Sheryl were serenading Alto with 'What about my star' though the cuteness was undercut by cheap animation. When will the Macross F musical be announced...ha.

ETA: the new 'it' anime dance? probably not, but watching both videos at once is fun. (megumi's video is one second behind the instructional video.)

Photobucket
Antique 3! Chikage joins the cast...um, the second half was really gay...like Barney gay. I was almost embarrassed to be watching it.

Bounen no Xamdou/Xam'd Lost Memories 1! is about ordinary boy who gets alien(?) powers.
Quick impression and summary~ almost fell asleep, but the last part was good. The woman with the glasses looks intriguing.
Photobucket
Soul Eater 14! It's test day! Silliness ensues. It is a great episode that should put a smile on your face. There's a new ending, too, which is less grating than the previous.

Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 14! Total opposite of Soul Eater's episode. Yoite, Miharu, Kouichi, Raimei & green-haired girls are all taken down by Kouga. Oh noes. (There was an adorable scene where Raikou and Kouichi are 'torturing' a student)
I guess holiday driving means 'drive really fast and get caught by police speedtraps or flip your car over and cause massive tie-ups on the highway.'

Caught up on some fantastic turning-point episodes. Much blabbing ahead...
Rolo is the butler in the coat closet, A girl in boxers, Catgirl & finished one more )
Toshokan Sensou 10-11! Apparently watching episodes out of order during a climactic part of the story can cause confusion. So going back, the butch-like woman did look awfully suspicious. In these episodes the Library Corp and Media Enforcement battle over artwork. For such an absurd series, there's plenty of bloodshed. It doesn't seem like a mockery of 'war' nor does it really completely convince me of its seriousness. *oh, the dilemma*

Allison & Lillia 10-11! While traveling on the train, Allison and Wil witness a murder of sorts. This leads to some odd action on the train where they are not sure who the 'bad' guys are.

Vampire Knight 12! The fight between Zero and Ichirou looked ridiculous due to low quality animation, and Yuuki's sad face looked like stupid fanart. Maybe if they sell enough DVDs, the 2nd season won't be so ugly. One more episode left this season. Out of everything I'm viewing this season, this anime seems to have the worst-looking animation. Junjo Romantica and Allison & Lillia also have cheap animation, but they hide it better.

Nabari no Ou 12! Though I'm into it for the not-so-subtle boy-love ninja story, Yoite and Miharu have yet to convince me of their undying/dying love. In this episode Miharu joins the other side. Yoite angsts some more. They go shopping. Raikou's pink hair isn't the only very bad fashion choice he has made.
Photobucket

Thought it ended a while ago, but the recently released, chapter 558, is the end. *spoilers* Sesshomaru and Rin have a dozen babies, while Kagome decides to design doggy ear cosplay head pieces for sale on the internet. Okay, not really. Even after missing about 200 chapters, all the predictable things happened, and nobody really important is dead. Inuyasha is such a cute doggy.

Nabari no Ou 11! I wasn't looking forward to more Raimei and Raikou doodads, but it was actually a great episode. The funny thing is that Raikou was totally okay with slicing up his sister, but fell apart slicing his partner, Gau, who is a total fanboy. It would be great if the girl from the flashback was Gau before the sex change operation.
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 10! So Kumohira isn't a gay teacher who pervs on students. You mean this is not a yaoi ninja anime? His girlfriend is cute, and tries to get Yoite, Miharu and Kumohira to all be friends. Raikou and Raimei fight. The next episode features more of them. I'm curious as to why Raikou dyes his hair pink. It doesn't look pink in the flashback. I hope there is a good background story to that habit. Anyway, still enjoying the lovely pastel animation, angst, and odd injections of comedy.
Photobucket

Vampire Knight 9! introduces another annoying character. *yawn* There better be more action and gore later. Angst is getting old. Zero and Ichi...haha...creative parents almost like mine.

Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 9! Ah~ a show with interesting revelations. We see how Yoite is slowly dying. We get a clue as to why Aizawa might what to help Miharu (I think there's more in the latter parts of the manga). And a little bit of Kumohira-sensei's involvement with the Shinrabanshou. Anyway, none of that would make any sense unless you are watching. I like the comradery between certain pairings of ninja in this show. Ok...the potential boy-love...haha. Anyway, I find it very kind of Miharu to choose to use his potential power for Yoite who seems to be suffering the most.
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 8! makes me appreciate simple ninja action and straight-forward storytelling. When the Raimei are around the name 'Thobari-sensei' is used most often, but I guess I will use 'Kumohira' now, since it is what everyone else in the show uses. In this episode, Kumohira and the others go forward with their plan to kill Mr Frosty. There's a little bit of fighting with Yoite and Yukimi, and a little of Kumohira's relationship to Miharu is revealed. Surprisingly, Kouichi proves that he actually has some useful ninja skills...including a pseudo-Geass. Good episode.

Photobucket

Toshokan Sensou 7! Ok, despite the terribly silly circumstances this show puts itself through, it is enjoyable. Shibasaki, Iku's roommate, is being woed by someone who wants to corrupt the integrity of the library corps. Iku is set up as an accomplice.

Soul Eater 6! In this episode Soul and Black Star team up to beat up the new student, Death. Gonna join the Death the Kid fanclub. I guess the fact that Shinigami's soul encompasses the whole town is important, but the question that I'd like answered is what he looks like under the mask...and where are his feet?

Photobucket
Nabari no Ou 6! Enjoying the pretty watercolor backgrounds as Seishirou Yoite seduces talks to Subaru Miharu about his wish. 'emo' seems to be the in word to describe very emotional/angst-ridden characters. Yoite was being emo without showing emo (he's pretty talented that way) as opposed to Thobari-sensei who was 'emo' in a loud manner.

Photobucket
Allison & Lillia 6! Benedict, Allison and Wil meet an exiled princess and decide to take her to the capitol. It's like watching Barbar or something similarly tame and simple.
Nabari no Ou 5! I guess episode 5 is synonymous with entertaining filler episodes. The story does progress as we learn that Raimei is basically a blond female Sasuke and she's after a pink-haired Itachi. The next episode looks like more boy-love will come into play. Oh wait, it seems this is a shounen series.

Amatsuki 4! Like Toki, puppets that talk creep me out. Toki shows off his new powers in this episode. Wish the directing and writing was a little better in this show. Transitions seem awkward.

Allison & Lillia 4! Months after the war ended, Wil goes on a school trip up north and entirely coincidentally, meets Allison and Benedict again. They get stuck in an isolated village whose residents don't seem to realize the war had ended.
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 4! was not so action-packed, but more full of explanations, and where the characters will go from here. I am totally shipping Thobari-sensei x Miharu...even though teacher-student relationships are icky...and anti-yaoi-ninja fans are shunning the yaoi...ha. Miharu is so adorable when he baits his teacher. The other good scene was when Yoite and Yukimi were munching on dinner while the leader of the Kairoushuu's message is streamed on youtube the internet.
Photobucket

Nabari no Ou 3! Nabari no Ou is a keeper. After watching this episode, I promptly devoured the available manga...yes, it's entertaining due to excellent artwork and straightforward shonen story-telling. And the bad guys always have a chance for redemption...usually as a result of the main character's attractive personality and a good dose of boy-love innuendo. The only problem with shonen manga is...that it could last 100 volumes or 200 anime episodes. In episode 3 Miharu and gang face a group from Kairoushuu who are after Fuuma's Kinjutsu (secret something in a scroll). Pretty boy with very evil Kira technique & with a perfectly-tied butt bow appears and promptly beats the crap out of everyone. And then quirky megane-guy saves them. Some of the slow-motion drama was corny, but still, I'm amused.

Veltpunch's Crawl is the opening to Nabari no Ou. It's a catchy rock song that would be great radio music..if jpop were featured on the local station. Link to the PV which just features the group rockin' out while a burglary is taking place.

A three-day weekend also gave me time to read Soul Eater. 7 volumes took about 2 hours since eh...although very amusing, there isn't too, too much depth or content. Like Nabari no Ou, this series could last 100 volumes should the mangaka choose to torment us. The anime is already slated for 51 episodes...I would say 'ugh', but so far, it's well-made entertainment.

Photobucket

Soul Eater 3! was unexpectedly hilarious. Death the Kid is Shinigami's son who is a character obsessed with symmetry. He is voiced by Miyano Mamoru who uses his Tamaki voice...which is awesome. This episode should hook any reluctant anime fan. The next episode will start the actual main story of this series.

Points - Gackt in a Hollywood movie? uh.
