xxxHOLiC jdrama 5-8! the end. Amewarashi and the Spider Lady! I liked the effort taken into making these story arcs extra dangerous for Watanuki; bright red blood! Amewarashi was perfect, and the Spider Lady was pretty cool when she was drugging and seducing Watanuki. While the core actors seemed to be restraining themselves from really making these characters truly convincing, the drama as a whole was pretty good. As I wrote before, the pacing and production were much better than the anime. And Doumeki was adorable. <3
~7/10~ rating

xxxHOLiC jdrama 4! Yuuko tells Doumeki that Watanuki and he should take the advice of rabid fangirls...or something to that effect. I always thought manga Doumeki was rather bland, but live-action Doumeki is pretty hot. I wish the writers gave Watanuki some more dialogue. He's been pretty stiff. Amewarashi looks cute.

Hunter x Hunter 2013 72 Gon trains while Tsezguerra distracts the bomber team!

Minami-ke Tadaima 12! new years, winter flab, kotatsu again, and demons

Hakkenden 11! Bishie drama at its best. Admittedly, I like the uniformed bishie the best.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha 11! Lots going on with war and currency, but hey, the Hero finds the wizard/witch and the Demon King. Wish they'd focus more on them rather than the politics.

Chihayafuru S2 11! Continuing the tournament, Chihaya's team pulls together. Arata is forbidden to watch them play and instead has to write a letter of apology. Gotta hand it to the mangaka for making each match different and exciting.

Senyu. 11! dodgeball and hagaren.

Zetsuen no Tempest 23! Everyone plans to attack the tree....It's a shame all the side characters are dull. The action and cliffhanger are good.

xxxHOLiC jdrama 3! was actually fairly scary. And drama Watanuki has a mother...which I don't recall manga Watanuki having.

Hunter x Hunter 2013 70-71! Gon, Killua ad Hisoka team up to beat Razor. It's very cute.

Minami-ke Tadaima 10-11! kotatsu time, eating out and pajama party....snow, christmas and another song from Hosaka.

Magi 21-22! It was getting a little tedious until Hakuryuu broke down and started bawling. Morgiana then obtains the power to use her magical metal item.

Hakkenden 9-10! Cute filler episode about Hamaji's first day at an all-girls school, and we finally meet Sousuke's other half.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha 10! So speeding through history, a new Church is developed through pie! And a printing press is used. If this were a 20 episode series, I'd consider dropping it right now. It's lost a bit of the charm that it had in the beginning. Too many random topics getting thrown about.

Chihayafuru S2 9-10! Hey, Arata gets his own episode! He relearns the significance of team competition. Nice cliffhanger. Chihaya's team then plays a group of students who use karuta for as a tool for strengthening their memorization skills.

Senyu. 9-10! Masochistic cat character enters the jail cell. And then some more 'bad' guys come.

Zetsuen no Tempest 21-22! Hakaze learns who Aika's murderer is. Not very surprising at all.

xxxHOLiC jdrama 1-2! is based on CLAMP's manga which recently restarted...ugh CLAMP. The first episode was actually not as bad as the anime series. What the anime lacked in production value and pacing is not noticeable in the live-action drama. The drama cuts Mokona and the comedy, and focuses nicely on the mysterious atmosphere of the story. Watanuki Kimihiro disturbed by his ability to see the supernatural stumbles upon a shop that houses Ichihara Yuuko, a fashionably dressed witch. The first episode revolves around a customer who has stiff pinky finger caused by her inability to stop lying. The second episode is about the monkey's paw. I enjoy the unpleasant endings these stories have.

Speaking of Watanuki...
 photo lastdm.jpg

BLOOD-C: The Last Dark jmovie! Watanuki makes a cameo here as the shop owner with a cute dog. In this movie, it's been 6 months since the tv series in which 90% of the characters were brutally killed off. Fortunately, the action and violence in the movie are not as humorously bad; untrained monkeys did not animate the movie. Saya is seeking revenge against Fumito and runs across a resistance group/hackers who are against changes in society that Fumito has brought about. They help Saya find him. There's a big climactic scene which turns out to be not-so climactic. ~8/10 rating~ for some brilliant action sequences and a cute Watanuki cameo scene (wtf was her payment?). The terrible tv series makes you appreciate this movie more, but don't expect any satisfying pink marshmallows moments. I find it mildly amusing that Saya still felt alone while the megane-girl felt that she was still connected.

Level E 11! another cute episode as the baseball player from episode 1 returns. His team gets transported to another dimension along with the Baka Prince who was hiding in the team's bus.

Photobucket

Kimi ni Todoke S2 10! their feelings finally reach each other in this nicely made episode. Perfectly-timed sunset is standard in shoujo anime.

Photobucket

xxxHolic Rou Adayume OAD! Haruka hires Watanuki peer into his grandson's wet dreams. Kohane doesn't mind a threesome. It's a shame Production IG used their cheap production staff to work on xxxHolic. CLAMP's visuals suffered because of the corner cutting.

xxxHolic Rou OAD! *spoilers* The anime episode attached to Volume 17 of the manga is a 40-minute stand-alone episode which gives you the gist of Yuuko's disappearance, and Watanuki's current state of mind. If it weren't for the kitsune story, I almost thought I was watching some sort of doujinshi version of xxxHolic; Maru & Moro in bed with our main character, Doumeki giving him the full body scan, all the drinking...well, that's not new. ~7/10 rating~ for interesting content, but so-so production.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 54! Envy's death was brilliant. Amused at the background music playing for Alex Louis Armstrong.

Uraboku 3! The opening declaration from Zess/Luka/whoever still makes me laugh. This episode features Zess saying 'don't go out tomorrow night' which guarantees the fact that Yuki will. While the episodes don't feel all that slow, the pacing of the overall story is painfully slow. There is no development.

Futatsu no Spica 2! Through the swimming relay, Asumi is able to befriend Marika. Kiryu, the cute older student, has his past and connection to Asumi's dad revealed. This show has an enjoyable blend of sweetness and drama, but I think it might be slightly on the dull side for most people.

Photobucket

xxxHolic Shunmuki 2! The second of the OADs felt like a long filler. Who was writing this anyway? The first one covered a few manga stories in an intriguing way while this one covered nothing of importance, was sloppily animated (Man, Sakura looked quite maimed), and moved at a snail's pace. It's interesting to note that Amewarashi's red personality does not match the original blue of her hair, but only because the anime blue-haired girls usually don't have bitchy personalities. Not sure why they felt they needed to do another OAD after this, but I supposed making people pay $60 for 20 minutes of mediocrity and a $6 manga is continuing to be profitable for all involved. ~7/10 rating~
Photobucket

xxxHolic Shunmuki OAD 1! Glad to see that there are some highlights in the animation; haha, the fishing scene. The straight to DVD episode covers Kohane's inquiry into Doumeki's thoughts on Watanuki, and actually, I'm surprised at how many little parts of the manga it covers. maybe I'll write more later.

Junjou Romantica 12! apparently the end! Rumors of episode 12 being the end end have circulated. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Hope the fans buy enough dvds to fuel another season...or enough fans buy the dvds to spread the uncensored smut. In episode 12 Misaki tries to be on top. *cute* ~8/10 rating~ for an adorable yaoi series that had tasteful edits.

Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 13! the end...fer real cause they kinda got through everything in the manga. Grandpa-voiced Pikachu is stuck between some fridges. Watanuki gets him out. They all have a get-together. I fell asleep, but I suppose it was cute. This season of xxxHolic was a helluva lot better than the first. Watanuki is an awesome character, but the story-telling still lacks a true depth that CLAMP seems to suggest it should have. So Watanuki has learned to not buy a fridge with black ooze. ~7/10 rating~ for the series. (gotta love the pseudo-Gohou Drug x-over)

Soul Eater 12! A show that could go on for 50 episodes or so. In this episode Medusa furthers her plot. I expected Kid to freak out at Maka and Soul's unsymmetrical apartment, but he didn't.
Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 12! almost the end. This wraps up Himawari's story really well. I'm glad the anime tied the whole anime up more quickly and logically without the Tsubasa crossover. I wonder why the last episode is the lightening-pokemon episode since this one feels more like an end.

Vampire Knight 11! The twins..um...something happens..there's angst...and really bad animation. Thus, Kaname is a horrible dancer.
Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 11! Never trust a high-school girl with purple gas coming out of her pinky finger or a girl who stuffs her bra. I think if Watanuki weighed a little more than 20 lbs, he wouldn't have fallen out the window.
Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 10! Kohane's story went through the grinder. Oh noes. um. zzz.
Photobucket

Junjou Romantica 8! Ah~ smut on a train. The pling-plong bgm is starting to make the serious scenes a tad corny for me...ok, a tad more corny than yaoi anime really is, but the comedy continues to be quite cute. Episode 9 will clearly make me cry...it's Junjou Minimum time. Chibi-Usagi and Chibi-Hiroki! I'm very appreciative of the fact that at the end of each episode is an adorable omake-type scene, and previews are on the website.

Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 9! Kohane is as likable and useful as Kotori from 'X' or Nunnally from 'Code Geass.' The main male characters adore her while most of the audience glares at the screen hoping the show moves along from the pity party.

Photobucket

Baccano 16! the last DVD-only episode. ;_; Claire Stanfield's conversation with Rachel was so off-the-wall. Poor Czes. Whenever he starts to get cocky, he gets knocked down. I wish I could read the books so I knew the significance of the new-ish characters. (edit: subtitles cleared those 2 characters up for me...yay.) Anyway, this is more of a conclusion than the first conclusion. Love the 'Ca-Role'-guy And definitely loved these last few extra episodes.
Photobucket

Junjou Romantica 7! Usagi has some uncomfortable-looking furniture. In this episode, Misaki worries about their first date. It's a very 'pink' episode. Love the SD moments.

Photobucket

xxxHolic Kei 8! Forgotten about this part of the manga since it's not too exciting, but the bells were pretty. Yuuki draws fanart and Watanuki looks for Kohane fanfics on the internet.

Nabari no Ou 7! another mild-tempered episode. Thobari-sensei accepts an offer to assassinate Frosty the Snowman in exchange for a scroll.
