Even the squirrel gets to party during the last chapter of Emma. The great art during the last chapter and the lovely cover image reminded me of why I enjoyed this series. The mangaka does love her details. ~7/10 rating~ for the manga series.

Ashita no Kita Yoshio 5-6! Episode 5 caused a slight coma, but 6 was excellent. The storytelling is similar to that of Baccano. It brings unexpected twists into the story and each episode ties small parts together. And even though there aren't any real gangsters, the bgm brings to mind that era. The pinkie-biter was creepy.

RH Plus 2! Yeah, suckered into another episode. Someone finds out about Makoto and Ageha's secret; the whole vampire thing. There's a lot corny dialogue and significant staring. The Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned were pretty bad movies. This series is just a step up, since it doesn't really take itself as seriously as the movies did, but I don't think I'll be watching anymore.
Really like Rightstuf's Emma package; sub-only, the whole first season, the whole translated booklet, and very affordable price. The bad thing is the fact that while I enjoyed watching it, it's not worth re-watching. But I do hope Rightstuf does well with that title since every detail about their release is attractive and I hope they and other companies start presenting more anime releases similarly.

Spice and Wolf 6! Though the downgrade in animation was more apparent in this episode, it was a great episode. Horo finally shows her true not-so-scary self. The business with the silver is completed and they move on. It's interesting to see that while Lawrence tries to be a smooth businessman, he is still quite a scaredy-cat.

Minami-ke -Okawari- 6! The power goes out. The Minami sisters have fun in the snow. Another lackluster episode...

For the last bit of V-day, here's Laruku's incredibly sappy love song, All Year Around Falling in Love live. I do enjoy the part where it sounds like a shark might start attacking. Scary shirt there.

Hey, IJATKOTCS(?) looks very fun.
Emma S2 10-12! Finished this show up. Episode 10 was soooo sweet. William enacted a balcony scene a la Romeo with everyone watching. Even though I thought he was a dunce in the first season, he proves to be such a charming gentleman from time to time. These last few episodes stray from the manga, but you get a little more Hans and Hakim time. Episode 11 focuses on William dealing with the consequences of turning down the Campbell family. Even though we don't get the climactic kidnapping scenes, we still get the BEST HUG EVER with Hakim helping out his bestest pal.
BUT the actual end was gawd awful. )

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 1! was a visual treat. You could screencap every second and it would be a artistic scene. Due to the same director and series composition person that worked on Negima?! the show presents itself in a similarly unique manner with interesting angles, textures, crops, etc and high quality bgm & animation. As for the story, I browsed the manga back here and it basically follows the same plot of a suicidal, pessimistic teacher and his students. My sympathies to the fansubber/translator who wants to work on this for it has a hellavalot of on-screen text and word puns. I do hope someone fansubs this 'cause I surely didn't understand everything. Although this doesn't seem to be laugh aloud funny, it has that dry humor that I like. That being said, the opening song is weird, the censored parts are weird and the ending song is the typical female seiyuu song. Forgot to mention the seiyuu who does the sensei was also Takemoto in Hachikuro. ♥

Love★Com 12! Another Valentine's Day and Koizumi makes chocolate for Ootani again. Nice episode with minimal tears. Will they finally kiss at the end? oops, I guess this isn't a short series; there's a bunch more episodes. *smoochas*

Seirei no Moribito 12! seems like samples of L'arc~en~ciel's whole new album got leaked...but only concert rips...haha. Maybe full-body searches are needed. Oh and the episode...another great episode. Although this series is not turning out to be the action-packed historical fantasy that it first appeared to be, it is a compelling show with interesting characters. For some reason it reminds me of those old Biblical cartoons because there's some sort of lesson to be learned. In this episode Chagum confronts a bully and learns how to fight...sort of. Was the snake eyeing the frog at the end? *gulp*

Emma got licensed by Rightstuf, sub-only, box set (♥ sub-only box sets!). That's a good deal (if it were a show worth watching more than once). Here's hoping for more sub-only box sets! (pssst, Nodame & Ouran)

The Zetsubou Sensei hompage has the shortest untelling promo vid seen this season. Hopefully, there's more coming.

ETA: Amused~ Do a search on youtube for 'skin' and 'ax' and you'll find quite a few SKIN concert samples. Although the video quality is pretty crappy, they sound interesting and some people actually were pretty close. Can't wait for official release news. 5 hour long bag checks seem effective, yes? I think to attend one of their concerts will be my next music-oriented goal. ♥
Finally finished...

HanaKimi twdrama 13-15 end of season one! I don't expect to be watching season 2, but this version of Hanakimi was entertaining in small doses & in fast-forward mode. The last story was badly written. It was about the gay photographer trying to use his knowledge about Rui Xi's real gender to manipulate Quan. The photography session was very, very...uh..I think I went blind. The actual end was predictable as Rui Xi almost blurts out her secret to the whole school, but doesn't; leaving plenty of open story for the next season. The resolution was so contrived that it is laughable. Ella did an over-the-top job as Mizuki/Rui Xi. You either enjoyed her acting or hated it. Wu Zun was a decent Sano/Quan. The internal monologues needed to be skipped over though. Anyway, this is the first twdrama I finished. Couldn't get past one episode of Meteor Garden and Peach Girl. The show was over-acted and silly, so depending on your mood, it could be enjoyable. The behind-the-scenes parts were really funny. Ella is a hyperactive girl.

and anime...
Emma S2 9! had a very cute moment between William and his mother. There was a Little Women anime that was shown on tv that this reminds me of.
Decided to watch the whole Music Station show from last night since it featured many favorites, Gackt whose Returner single is No. 1, Namie Amuro, Kat-tun and Maroon 5. Usually you can find clips on Youtube, but the whole show had pretty good performances. I wonder where all the American non-karaoke music shows are? Yahoo music seems to have alot of live for-Yahoo concerts. Ah well..I guess that's progress. Have to find Gackt an impressive performer since he is always composed even in odd costuming.

Another nice music find is the Paul Potts' story about a mobile phone salesman turned opera singer. *tears up*

Quick anime blips:
Emma S2 8! Hans and Hakim prove their awesomeness.

Naruto Shippuden 18! Gaara's mostly dead while the others slosh about outside the cave. Is it time for ninja-action yet?
Is it too much to ask that one US-licensed manga I buy NOT have a spelling mistake or gender error or missing verbs or wrong translations? And English was actually one of my weaker subject areas in school..."SCHOOL" was spelled wrong!!!! they forgot the 'C' and no, it wasn't part of a joke. Who are they hiring as editors!? Spell-check deficient twelve year olds from the middle of a poverty-stricken country?

ANYWAY eh hem.

Emma S2 7! Hans, poor Hans. You are neither quite as happening as Hakim nor do you have a harem, but you sure try. Mr. Campbell is creepy...I foresee more creepiness.

Seirei no Moribito 9! Why does L'arc's opening song sound like it's coming from a cave? In this episode, we are shown that Chagum's brother, Sagum, is a decent guy.

Love★Com 9! There is much sighing and crying.

Gundam boys

Many ♥'s to whoever thought that Loveless characters belonged in a Gundam series. Can't wait til the fall!

Emma S2 6! Love this episode. This episode features a flashback to when an ambitious, young Richard Jounes met the innocent & honest Aurelia Hartwick. Even though she had to leave, they are an interesting couple. Richard's bad points seem to weaken with Aurelia. The last half of the episode features Christmas at the Molders household. Cute!!!
Gotta love how wank rises and falls so quickly. Glad to see ppl f-locking their journals and admitting to having pervy, possible illegal things written in their journals...or admitting to being weak-minded.

Anyway,
>Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Emma S2 5! mmm...Fleshy Rubenesque nude woman...Mrs. Molders is hot. (pinchable peaches is what my art prof liked to say) And a little tug on a corset, makes Emma's cleavage nice and plump...poor William had to take a peek. Thus, good episode all around.

Seirei no Moribito 7! Chagum learns about the almighty dollar..or yen.

Romeo x Juliet 7! Tybalt clangs his sword around, gives everyone a glare and swooshes his cape before his leaves. Excellent. Ah, and Romeo and Juliet share their first kiss complete with soaring music and fireworks. It's not an outstanding series, but it's still enjoyable. Does 'Hermione' mean 'annoyance' in old English?

Emma S2 4! For some reason I like the romance in this show a whole lot more than the above show. Probably because Emma isn't as loudly wimpy & weepy as Juliet, and William's naivete is amiable...while Romeo's naivete lets the commonfolk get killed. Actually, the charm of this show is Hakim and his harem. ♥ In this episode Colin reacts like we all should at William's proposal.

-Insert-
Love★Com 7! This falls inbetween RxJ and Emma in terms of enjoyable romance. Koizumi's angst over Ootani is laughable, but hopefully they progress faster because tears get old after awhile.

Darker than Black 7! was such an odd, funny episode. Nothing else to say about it other than it was not the usual episode.

Gotta mention Google's new translation toy here where you can put in an inquiry in english and search for sites specifically in another language. The results come up in both the original language and in your home language. The translations aren't 100%, but it seems that they're working on it. ♥..and I like how you can edit the translated inquiry.
Light's english voice gets a butchering. There must be a lack of male hormones in American voice actors. Japanese male seiyuu seem to have naturally deep soothing voices while American voice actors have to either sound whiny or gravely. Maybe James Earl Jones would like to be an anime voice actor one day. Miyano Mamoru, if only you could speak english!

Death Note 31! Originally I thought that the length of time between L's death and Mikami's appearance was unbearably long in the manga, but with anime magic, you get the abbreviated version with all the action and less talk. In this episode Light thought that he had Near, but Near escapes. Light takes a dump, (cause where else can he privately tell Misa what to do?)and puts plan B into effect...which is to get a hot guy in to liven up the show.

Emma S2 3! I wonder if there is any point in the story where Eleanor is supposed to be likable. Maybe her obsessive devotion might be admirable to some, but the only positive point about her is that she almost looks like Umi from MKRayearth. William is becoming weak towards Eleanor's timid-damsel act. Oh no.
Bambino 3! Bambi finally stops looking like a total idiot in the kitchen. You kind of feel embarrassed for him. Ah well, in this episode he finishes up his spring break stint at Baccanale.

Emma S2 2! Colin and Erich are adorable little boys. I want that pet squirrel. In this episode, Eleanor, being the sadly persistent woman that she is, invites the Jones family to the Crystal Palace. William politely refuses to succumb to her half-assed charms. Emma continues to go about her business with Hans brooding at her from afar. *swoon* ...ack! naked lady.
...for Bambino get hop onto my PC.

Emma the Second Act 1! This continues where the first part left, as Emma settles into a new job in a large mansion after she had left London in season 1. The little 19th century details from the characters' day-to-day life are part of the story's strength. For some reason it's nice to see the maids doing the mundane chores. It seems Hans might play a larger part in the anime than he had in the manga. The opening for this episode(with the old song...as a Celtic version) was played at the end and had some pretty visuals. Gotta love the sheep. If you are into a soft romantic story, this is a great story, but you'd better start with the first season.

Death Note 27! That's a creepy voice for a 14 year old. Near and Mello move in on Light. I'm not sure why they aren't as interesting as L was. Anyway, there are now 3 groups in conflict. Near with the FBI calling themselves the SPK, Mello with his group of thugs, and Light and the Japanese police (all 4 of them). Doesn't Mello look like a crazed Howl in his black spandex?
The second act of Emma looks nice; maybe even higher quality than the first season. I think I may be in the mood for shmoop this spring.

Death Note 23! The end of the Yotsuba arc.

Bleach 118-119! The story of the bald guy and his boyfriend; quickly paced because the writers made it all up. It was full of shonen cliches, but still cute.

Other random-mess:
Yaoi fans should check out chapter 347 of Naruto. I wonder how much the mangaka got bribed to draw that one.

ETA: Tackey and Tsubasa released 2 new PVs, Crazy Rainbow (which is also One Piece's current opening song) and x-Dame. The former PV features the guys being somewhat domestic and cute. The latter PV is best heard on mute and with your eyes closed; ok, peek at them hitting on an older woman and dancing a dance that is beyond normalcy.
