Whether to make out with Nakashima Mika or Lee Jun-ki, she makes the obvious choice. "First Snow" sounds like a sappy Korean movie, but one can't complain about the lack of eye-candy.

"I hope this film helps improve friendly relations between the two nations", says them...didn't they say that about the "Friends" mini-drama. That was a cute story which also featured an attractive Korean actor and pretty Japanese actress. (hm...what ever happened to Won Bin?..ah right, military duty.) Anyway, totally rec that short drama. Very cute!

Maybe they need to make a movie about love between a cute Iraqian male and cute American female...or maybe not.

...I remember what I wanted to write about..not that stuff up there.
Sapuri/Suppli! Finished trudging through this series. I was hoping this would be a funny and sweet series similar to that of Kimi wa Pet; where a similar workaholic woman meets a younger Johnny man. Turns out that Kame is not the comedian that Matsujun is and that the writers didn't really put any effort into the humor portion of the show. The 11 episode show was about a woman who uses work as a supplement for love, a young man who is trying to find his place in the world, a father who gets stuck with his daughter for a summer, and a bunch of other random people looking for love. The actuality of it is that a popular actress and a pop singer are placed in a show and expect people to think they look hot together. Uh, there was no chemistry between them or any of the other characters at all. The kissing scenes were very awkward; the writing very bad. The end...way too sweet..-Turn the channel-

ETA: They chose The King and the Clown to contend for an Oscar. Yay..go gay clowns!
Sapuri 3! was a pretty good episode. There was a nice fallout between Fujii and Yuya. Yuya and his big mouth dropped big hints about Ojiwara's other woman and about Imaoka's bad fathering skills; Yuya's such a nice boy. He also had some cool T-shirts. The 'best' part of the episode was the building up music that led to the fireworks and 'meaningful' staring between Fujii and Ojiwara. It was a jdrama version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast soundtrack. Anyway, it is still an entertaining series. The sweetness factor and 'cliche-filled' speeches were a tiny bit overwhelming in this episode.

Other series I'm perusing now...

Engine with Kimura Takaya as a race car driver gets fired from the European circuit and goes back to the orphanage where he grew up. His no-care attitude revives the bland orphanage. Cute kids plus cute Johnny makes cute stories.

My Girl with Lee Joon-Ki (from The King and Clown) plays a small part in this series. He's the resident playboy with fighting skillz. The main character, Ju Yoo-rin, is a female swindler who happens to get involved with Seol Gong Chan.....the heir of a high-class hotel or something. Geeeez, what's with the Koreans and pretty boys who own or will own a hotel; maybe it's the Donald Trump syndrome?...but Trump's far from cute. This follows the normal Kdrama plotline: poor girl meets rich boy...their love is conflicted by status, another rich girl...and another boy. There are certain parts of this that are unique and funny. (more analysis to come.)

Sapuri 2! This is a pretty enjoyable series. Like all jdrama, they really emphasize how one character represents one type of working ideal while another represents a conflicting type. Fujii is the honest, by-the-book employee while 'Ogi-sama' is the manipulative..but covertly sensitive type...(but he kinda looks like he's faking it) employee. Yuya is the newbie who tries to get recognized...and will no doubt encounter evil temptations. This also has a age-gap theme as Kimi wa Petto did and it would be very weird if Fujii and Yuya end up together. I'm guessing the series will be one of those 'how our meeting influences our lives' type shows.

Ouran Koukou Host Club 15! takes place during a summer break. Tamaki and gang hunts Haruhi down as she is doing part-time work at a pensione run by a transvestite friend of her father's. The host club vie to get the last room available. The twins are the focus in this two-part story. I enjoy the twins' interaction with Tamaki, Haruhi, between themselves and the development of their personalities. They seems too be the most interesting characters so far. This part ends with the host club meeting a friend from Haruhi's past.

Tsubasa Chronicle S2 11! was a cute chibi episode. Bee Train didn't take advantage of all the comedic potential as the Prince of Tennis chibi fillers did, but it was a cute episode nonetheless. The next fillers look as lame as can be.

other mentionables--

NHK no Youkoso! opening song, Puzzle, by Round Table feat. Nino is another one of their fun, listenable songs. The anime looks nicely made but storywise, not as interesting.

Fruits Basket is at the next to the last chapter. Chapter 130 *spoilers* has Kyou finally free of the curse which sets off a chain reaction to the rest being free. I think each jyuunishi had to reject 'god' to free themselves...or in a way accept 'god' as human...this was assuming Akito was a god-like representation. That interpretation kinda got lost when he became a girl. Aaand the last page of the chapter links god to a faceless looong haired bishie. I'd hate to think that they were freed because they found 'love,' but that is to what the translations seem to refer. Then again, rejecting Akito/pseudo-god's kind of love and finding it elsewhere is an interesting concept.

Sapuri 1! features Kame (singer from Kat-tun and actor from Nobuta wo Produce) as a new part-timer at an advertising agency that creates CM's. The female main character is Misaki Ito (from Densha Otoko tv). It starts off with a chance meeting as Yuya(Kame) forgets his cell on the train and Fujii(Misaki) finds it. I like how they explain a little of the actual setting of the advertising industry. As far as plot, beautiful older women try to get their hands on some Johnny boys...or is it the boys who try to get the older women? or is it about finding happiness...in the workplace?

+ Good roles for these particular actors/tresses
+ Nice production, decent music, cuteness
- No surprise twists yet
+ A nice person subbed it in less than 24 hours...yay.

Yuki's Fugai nai ya PV which is the opening theme to Honey & Clover II is extremely cute and weird. A cross between Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast and Gwen Stefani...I guess. (i'll put a youtube link instead of the jpopsuki as soon as i find onefound). (ah, forgot to mention that the stuffed cat and Yuki sequence is very funny).
