Just got CLAMP Mokona's Okimono Kimono mook in. Already have an email in to the nice bastards people who put stickies over the priority mail label and mailed it via standard.

Quickie Review: This softcover book is almost the size of the Tsubasa hardcover manga. For a photo collection, it is too small to enjoy the details of the intricate decorations and designs. The photos would have been better served by a magazine size or larger artbook size. Plus, the layout is such that a few of the photo centers lay in the crease of the book itself, BuT the photos from the first chapter are the only ones subject to that bad layout decision.
Part 1: Okimono art~ features the models in CGI/photoshopped backgrounds. There are summary pages where you see the concept sketch, a paragraph of where the idea comes from, photos and complete picture.
Part 2: Okimono code~ Mannequins are dressed up in kimonos with focus on details and accessories according to a theme.
Plus, Okimono talk part 1 with Onuki Ami from Puffy
Part 3: Okimono sampo~ Models play outside. There's akero-chan check focus on more accessories.
Part 4: Okimono komono~ Models wear a kimono while there are small comics and drawings that highlight certain parts of a kimono. There are also a few pages of themed accessories.
Part 5: Okimono nikki~ Mokona's photo diary with her wearing different kimonos from 2005 and on.
Plus, Okimono talk part 2 with Yumioka Katsumi
Part 6: Okimono work~ The comic (scanlated by bwys.net), Shimarisu no Kuritasu by Igarashi Sarsuki, Egara Gallery (closeups of kimono patterns), and afterwards from Mokona.

Overall, it's a cute display of Mokona's kimono designs. She has a great sense of color and how to dress up a kimono. I love the hats and handbags. All the details into what goes with what makes for some fun, wearable outfits.
My only other criticism is that the concept designs, the ones in the beginning, aren't as powerful as those displayed in xxxHolic and in CLAMP manga in general. If only Mokona and some professional photographers from say...Europe would team up. Then the feel from manga to photo art would translate a little better.
