Enjoyed the X-Men: First Class movie. I expect a surge in a certain genre of fanfics. I have to admit that Kevin Bacon was just Kevin Bacon to me. Are they really expecting 55M this weekend while Pirates got over 100M? X-Men was definitely better than Pirates, but didn't have any Johnny Depp-type stars. Anyway, go see. It's fun.

Ao no Exorcist 7! In a smooth effort to get rid of a filler character, and tie the other two female characters together, the girls encounter friendship trouble plus a random demon. Pretty cute episode.

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi 8-9! Kisa and Yukina's story. Kisa is another shoujo manga editor while Yukina is a shoujo manga sales clerk at a nearby bookstore. It's L.O.V.E. I enjoy Yukina's shoujo eyelashes and sparkles. Oh, just saw that the bunny fairy's name is Tinkle.

Tiger and Bunny 9! features Dragon Kid who babysits the mayor's baby with Tiger and Bunny. There's a yaoi fanfic writing itself in this episode. There's a weird nekid man's butt at the end.

X-Men 8! I have no real idea why this is so boring. Maybe because Hisako is a whiny brat and the other characters don't have much of a personality? It could be the one-liner dialogue. Anyway, dropped.

Anohana 8! Mema finally reveals herself to the other characters by writing a new entry in her diary.

I enjoy the odd humor in FT Island's Hello Hello PV. They've returned to Korean angst pop. Ya.

So watching some random episode of WGM, and noticed that like using a variety of background music from 10-15-ish years ago. Judy and Mary's Jitensha was used a few times. It's such a good summer-y song.

Ao no Exorcist 6! Hilarious filler involving the brothers and their dorm cook. More please!

Tiger and Bunny 8! is about one of the side characters who spouts off Naruto-like lines. One of those learn-a-moral episodes, but entertaining.

X-men 7! Cyclops and Emma Frost flirt. Yes, it's as boring as it sounds.

Ao no Exorcist 5! If anyone needs a pick-me-up, this show is made for you. More students are introduced including a school bully-type character who has a background similar to that of Rin's. It's nice that Rin takes the non-shounen route when provoked.

X-Men 6! The X-men return to Japan and distribute the vaccine to prevent 2nd mutations. They fight another robot and get lost in the snow. Good action, lame plot movers.

Lie to Me 1-2! kdrama not related to the US show. A young civil servant/event planner tells a small lie which gets her into a fake marriage with a rich young business man. What is with all these eligible bachelors being hotel or department store owners. Is that really the only way to get rich in Korea? Anyway, there is a jealous friend, an interested brother, other side characters to mix it up in the usual kdrama ways. The draw is Yoon Eun-hye (from Goong and Coffee Prince), but the set-up is standard and the comedy lacking, so I won't be watching anymore.

Ao no Exorcist 4! It's still early in the series, so enter cute female sidekick character who sorta reminds me of a Chika Umino character. More sidekick characters to come, but the highlight of the show is still watching the brothers being brotherly. I agree with [personal profile] insaneneko's comment that Yukio has 'mezmerizing moles'. It's true. He wouldn't be as interesting a character to look at without them. It's also suspiciously refreshing that he is quite lenient with Rin. Normal shonen siblings are supposed to have deep-seeded anger towards one another. Maybe it's the Catholic upbringing that makes them so amicable? Though I pessimistically think that the anime will end up with a weak slapdash conclusion like Soul Eater, this is still the most likable series this season, and I will enjoy it while the writers still have good material; only 6 volumes of manga...boohoo

Tiger and Bunny 6! This is the 2nd most likable series this season. It's the mysterious ouroboros tattoo gang. I like the drag queen hero. He's so RuPaul.

X-Men 5! Hisako and Emma are made X-men members. *yawn*

X-Men 4! The X-Men take Emma Frost who is suffering from a 2nd mutation sydrome, and Hisako who wants to stay with Emma to the Xavier Institute. They pick up a stray mutant who dies in their lab. Very dull episode, but the preview for next week looks mildly promising.

Tiger and Bunny 4! focuses on Blue Rose...sponsored by Pepsi Nex. I don't think we have this variation of Pepsi in the states.

Ao no Exorcist 2! well, I think most anime fans saw this coming. Rin's father sacrifices himself, and Rin vows to get revenge against Satan. Enter the 2nd Mad Hatter character this season.

Deadman Wonderland 2! The battle royale-style amusement park shows are revealed as Ganta slowly learns the rules he must follow during his imprisonment. Because of all the leniency given to her, I wouldn't be surprised that the albino girl is the 'redman' from episode 1 who killed all Ganta's classmates.

Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi 2! I was getting a little bored during the buiid-up to this episode, but the eventual realization was amusing. I think the director is trying to develop the characters a little more slowly in this series...as opposed to Junjou Romantica where the couples were boinking at least once every episode. In episode 2, Ritchan learns that his boss was his first love. Despite his insightful thoughts about the situation, he is obviously sticking around for some abuse.

Photobucket

Tiger and Bunny 3! Enjoying the old married couple dialogue; top or bottom is the fanservice question indeed. We get Bunny's short Batman-like background story. From the preview, maybe we'll get one hero's story at a time?

Photobucket

X-Men 3! The X-men save Hisako and the other mutant children. Hisako's power is very Astroboy-shaped. They also pick up Emma Frost.

Deadman Wonderland 1! And for something with more blood and gore...

+ Interesting premise
- Bland animation production & characters

Quick impression~ A young boy is convicted of killing all his classmates. The real murderer implanted a red gem into the boy's chest. He is sentenced to death and sent to Deadman Wonderland, an amusement park where the entertainment is at the expense of the convicts who work there. He meets the obligatory moe character. He gets buillied, red gem glows, power shoots out, and his bullies get killed. This vaguely reminded me of that disturbing prison anime, Rainbow, which I never finished. The characters are victims of the so-called justice system, and they aren't quick enough to point out the huge holes. Despite all the promotion surrounding this, the story was unconvincing.

I'll be sticking with the boy-love anime; Sekaiichi, Tiger x Bunny, X-Men and will give Anohana and C another couple episodes. There's at least 2 dramas I want to fit into my spring/summer schedule; Muscle Girl and Manny. :)

Ah ha, how to rid the world of mutant discrimination (oh, save the children)...but the real question on any girl's mind is which is the better couple -- Tiger x Bunny? Wolverine x Cyclops?

Tiger and Bunny 2! I knew we'd get to 'Bunny'. This was a soft-hearted episode where we see how Kotetsu was saved by a Hero as a child, and became inspired to save people. He in turn, saves a troubled child who has powers. Fun and funny episode. The only boring parts of the show are the forgettable opening and ending themes.

X-Men 2! The show takes itself way too seriously, but it's entertaining. The X-Men reach Japan and investigate the disappearances of the mutant children. They run up against the U-Men (really? U-Men?) and boom, tons of action. The design of the robotics and mutants are pretty cool.

X-men 1! The success of Ironman and Wolverine must have allowed Madhouse to put more resources into the third Marvel anime series.

+ Better animation than Ironman
+ Unintentionally funny
- meaning that the voice acting is over-the-top at times

Quick impression~ The story starts out with Jean Grey as the Phoenix controlled by Mastermind sacrificing herself so that she doesn't cause anyone harm. The story quickly moves to a year later when Professor X sends the gang to Japan to look for a missing girl. The personalities of the characters sometimes seemed like parodies of themselves, but it was a decent episode despite the initial melodrama. In the opening theme, Professor X, Cyclops, Beast, Storm, and Wolverine were named as the main characters.
