Hunter x Hunter 2012 46-47! Gon, Killua and Leorio continue to try to raise 9 billion to buy Greed Island while Kurapica sets up a trap for Uvojin. Brown Gon and Killua is just so wrong...if it were only in that one episode's Huncyclopedia, I would have worried about the writers. Kurapica and Uvojin's fight was pretty nice. I really don't recall anything from the first series' fight, so it was like watching something new.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 11-12! the end. is a flashback to the main character's first day at school. It's a clever arc on being antisocial, being bullied, being lonely and being one of the crowd. It definitely ran close to depressing in some scenes. And in episode 12, Y shows the main character the secrets of the tea club...making her BL obsession look normal. But it's interesting that the main character becomes rather accepting of them. Not sure what the robots stood for, but all in all enjoyable arc. Out of the three new series I was watching, this is the only one that was worth watching. ~8/10 rating~ This show would best be likened to a show in the middle of Kino no Tabi and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei; a genre about failures of humanity, perhaps? I liked the unpredictable stories.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 10-11! the end. Hazuki is now the ghost. Rokka realizes that Shimao is in Hazuki's body, and wonders where Hazuki is. It is finally over. After the cute set-up in episode 1, I kept waiting and waiting for it to get better; either towards cute shoujo or smart josei. It was neither. Shimao couldn't leave his wife alone to fall in love again and taking over Hazuki's body just made her and Hazuki confused. It failed in both the comedy and angst department. The climax and epilogue were rather nice; though I have no idea why I should be rooting for Rokka and Hazuki's relationship. ~6/10 rating...bland character portrayals.

Utakoi 11! is a story about Murasaki Shikibu, the author of The Tale of Genji, who had some sort of obsessive girl-crush going on with her childhood friend.

Faith 5-8! The F - - K speech was so amusing. Anyway, the king who obviously has a plan sends the doctor, Eun-Soo, with his enemy, Gi Cheol. The queen and Choi Young...along with everyone else disapproves; king pouts. I enjoy that Choi Young uses the police shield like Captain America. And that the pretty white-haired bad guy plays the evil flute of death. Choi Young pretends he comes to save the doctor because he likes her. Eun-Soo is cute when she regards his 'confession'.

>Photobucket

I appreciate the amount of action each episode contains..even if it is rather blood-less. In episode 7, Eun-Soo comes pretty close to an annoying female character that needs constant saving, but the drama has been good about backing off of her. I do appreciate the bromance between the king and Choi Young. The king was a little stuck in constipation mode for a little while there. Love the costuming. Very pretty for all.

Utakoi 9-10! is about Fujiwara no Yukinari and the red-head, Shonagon, from the previous episode.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 9! Hazuki has been jumping to various fairytales in Shimao's Rokka's mind; from Thumbelina to the Little Mermaid and now Snow White. While there is no love triangle angst, there is the frustration of watching characters doing pointless, confusing things...maybe it's just bad writing.

Hunter x Hunter 2012 45! Why are Gon and Killua so brown at the end? In this episode, Hisoka makes an offer to Kurapica. Wolverine's pals help him escape.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 10! a flashback episode to the main character's first day at work and first encounter with the fairies where they deem her God. She witnesses the rise and fall of a city; cute of course.

Arang and the Magistrate 3-4! After a nicely choreographed fight with some pushy ghosts, Arang's corpse shows up and drags Eun-oh deeper into her mystery. Arang forces the fake fortune-teller to take her to the heavenly gate and then forces the shinigami-like character to take her to the Jade Emperor; not sure who the ying/yang is with the two guys up there. In a quick story twist, hey, she becomes human again. I like the quirky nature of the show, but sometimes, I'm not totally sold on the supernatural.

Faith 3-4! Didn't realize this was the Korean version of X-men (which is coincidentally mentioned). The characters have fancy clothes and dangerous powers...though they really need a mind-reader and a Wolverine. It's also pretty nice that the main female character,Yoo Eun-Soo, is slightly older and well, mostly smart...being a doctor and all. While she's somewhat timid against violence, she speaks up for herself usually resulting in some laughs. I enjoy the evil character's evil moustache, too. In these episodes Choi Young reveals that the previous king had granted him his freedom, and the reason why he wants to leave his service to the king is explained through the use of stylish animation and a flashback. Unfortunately, the current king still has use for him. The Eun-Soo becomes friendly with the king and recalls her history lessons of this time period. There's good character interaction and like the previous episode, a good cliffhanger. It's a keeper.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 9! Bullying leads the main character to relocate a few victimized fairies. Politics, use of resources...drugs...it's a very cute episode. While it's a little difficult to pin down what the writer intends to say with the episode, it's amusing to see how the main character leads or is led by the fairies.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 8! Shimao continues to confuse Rokka with his actions in Hazuki's body. Hazuki finally becomes determined to do something...zzz...

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 5-7! Shimao spends some time in Hazuki's body..and also gets himself new glasses and a haircut; looking forward to Hazuki's reaction. Rokka thinks about her feelings for Hazuki and confesses. So far, Hazuki has been rather a depressing, passive bum. I'm on the side of the ghost in this love triangle.

Hunter x Hunter 2012 42-43! Kurapica and Melody tell each other their sob story. Gon, Killua and Leorio try to make money. Episode 43 finally gets us back to some blood and action. The Phantom Troupe infiltrate the underground auction, but find that the goods were already relocated. The mafia goes after them. 43's Huntercyclopedia was adorable. chu~

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 6-7! Another robot jumps into the picture. The main character feels sorry for the two robots who have become self-aware. The episode results in looping back the the first episode when we first see the main character with the short hair. Episode 7 starts an interesting 'Groundhog's Day'-like story in which the fairies want sweets. They start making clones. The main character is scheduled to pick up the grandfather's assistant.

Utakoi 6-7! 6 is a reality-tv type episode with a talk show and cart race...basically a filler to reintroduce the characters/bastardization of historical figures. 7 returns us to a couple love stories.

The new kdrama season looks very promising. I'll try to post some pretties next.

Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland OVA! cracktastic. I was skeptical on how enjoyable this might be since the trailer feature a bunch of still shots, but there was a mix of short animation clips, and a really funny fight scene involving Suzaku. It's pretty fun all around. Lelouch's sister-complex was cute, too.

Photobucket

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 4! Hazuki takes Rokka to the amusement park for a decidedly unsuccessful date; she shoots his request for sex down with a laugh. He gets drunk and allows Shimao to take over his body.

Hunter x Hunter 2012 41! First look at the new Phantom Troupe and Neon (who has blue hair this time around). Miyano Mamoru is using his unconvincing evil voice as Chrollo.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 5! The fairies leave when they detect electromagnetic waves heading their way. Pion the cat girl/robot? is introduced. Not sure what is going on...

Utakoi 5! Yasuhide, Narihira and Komachi contemplate getting older and then go on a trip.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 3! isn't turning out to be as much of a comedy that I thought it was. Rokka wavers between accepting Hazuki and weeping about Shimao. Shimao has some ghostly powers.

Hunter x Hunter 2012 40! Kurapika shows off a little of his powers. The animation was a little weird. Have to admit that this part of the arc was not interesting the first time around and is proving again to be not interesting; maybe it's all the Kurapika angst.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 4! insightful look into the manga industry.

Photobucket

Utakoi 4! A change from the previous episodes and focus on another poet, Fun-ya no Yasuhide's talents...or lack thereof.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita 2! The headless chickens were running the factory...okaaay. This is brilliant.

Utakoi 2! I'm enjoying these modernized romantic stories. And the humor is really cute. Anime is pretty incredible in that first, it popularizes an ancient card game with Chihayafuru and then it teaches ancient poetry...albeit loosely interpreted.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 2! Hazuki tries to put the moves on Rokka while Shimao continues to literally get inbetween them. The show continues to have a good mix of light humor and bittersweet romance.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous 1! Hazuki sees dead people...person...

+ Nice production
+ Potentially really sad or funny

Quick impression~ A young man falls for a local florist. He gets a parttime job with her, and finds himself haunted by her dead husband. Nothing too much going on in the first episode, but it looks like it might be a lovely tearjerker.
