Not on Amazon yet, but 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' will be out on Blu-ray in April...or October depending if the + 6 month US release date equation is in the works.


CLAMP just started a new title; or rather continued from last year's one-shot. There's a neat-o male-like character with a mullet, headband and pink eye-shadow. I will try to hook him up with langwidere.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 5! Sayaka's friend recovers. Another magical girl comes to challenge Sayaka the newbie. The only interesting parts to this anime are the fight scenes. The characters themselves are an annoyance. I'm watching 1 more episode to see if Madoka grows a spine.

I definitely need a replacement for Blueskies (I was thinking about something xxxHOLiC-related?), so if this works out I could round out my domain and then retire to Boca (not really). I gave up on CLAMP because, aside from xxxHOLiC, they seemed to be degenerating into lucrative but boring bottom-of-the-barrel shoujo tripe, and that gave me a big sad. But, you know, my motto is, "if the manga’s gay, then it’s okay!" And whatever this is it can’t possibly be as crap as TRC, no matter what. Right?

Would you like me to post translations of Clover? Or do you have some good ones? You’re the only person I know who really liked the series.

The title is 'GATE 7'. 3 of the 4 characters are apparently genderless...so they can do gay stuff without CLAMP owning up to writing yaoi. I don't thing the title will be something you like, but it's still pretty.

If I remember correctly, CLAMP has always been preoccupied by genderless characters. It was one of the things I used to really like about them (I am also preoccupied by genderless characters, especially if they’ve got great hair).

Actually, I am looking for a slightly more 'literary' Japanese comic, whose characters speak in complete sentences, to keep my prose-translation skillz sharp — but, of course, rather than hopping on Thermae Romae or something I would prefer to follow a series that panders to my fangirly preferences. Any suggestions?

Hey, thank you very much! You didn’t have to do that. (But thank you, though!)

I really enjoyed GATE7! It was really nicely drawn, and had that sort of Gouhou Drug vibe that I used to like a lot. I was really over the TRC style, but this is a nice semi-departure. The language was nice and easy, too, which is always a plus. I plan to re-join the comm to follow the series, operating under a "never comment on anything ever, no matter what" policy.

The xxxHOLiC ending! So, so nice! Loved it. More than makes up for the TRC wank. I’m going to get back into the series, starting from the very beginning, so that I can appreciate it properly. I FEEL A FANSITE COMING ON.

FUN FACT: Last summer, I translated six of Natsume’s ten "dream" stories. Mostly they were successfully creepy, especially the one about the blind kid. Maybe I will dig one or two of them out and fix it/them up enough to post. FANSITE!!!
