Glad I mailed in my vote now.

Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 1! is the first out of two OADs. There's really no chronological story to this series, so one could jump into any of the episodes and just enjoy the mess. This episode starts with Valentine's Day where the characters try to figure out how to seduce 'the elite' (ie. otaku). The second half of the episode moves onto Halloween where everyone dresses up as anime characters rather than traditional Halloween ghouls much to sensei's dismay. There's a ton of anime nods again including Suzumiya Haruhi, Lucky Star, Code Geass and more. Anyway, the criticism/mockery/silliness reminds me of a Japanese version of The Simpsons without the family as focal point. I wonder how the mangaka intends to end the manga.

Switch 1! is the first of two OADs, too. Not sure why I decided to watch this. I never even read the manga, but hey, it's a police drama; 'stylish crime drama' is what kept popping up on news sites. Kai and Hal are partners in the narcotics division in the police force. It already sounds like a set-up for yaoi, and with Kai's uke-like personality, that's what it seems like. Both guys are undercover at a certain organizations suspected of trafficking drugs. Though the animation was nice-looking, the episode was boring. Most of the time, the characters said cryptic things, and some sparse action took place in the shadows. Hopefully, the manga fans liked it, cause by itself, it was rather bland eye-candy.
