Gourmet 11-13! Sung-chan's team wins the best cow competition due to Bong-joo's team lax treatment of their top-quality cow; ie. They drove too fast which caused the cow to become stressed which was reflected by in its meat.

The butchering competition is next. The weasely-looking chef on Bong-joo's team visits Sung-chan's butcher and stuff happened in the past which causes them to basically hate each other. Weasel-guy injures Sung-chan's guy. Thus, Bong-joo's team wins for speed, but Sung-chan's team wins for accuracy. The last part of the contest is the grilling competition. Somehow, both teams end up at the same place for charcoal, and Bong-joo decides not to use the same wood as Sung-chan, but Chef Oh shows his son a little favor and the recipe for good charcoal. They tie due to Min-woo on Bong-joo's team being an arrogant arse and not paying attention to his beef. This part of the series is fun. It's nice to see what each side does for the competition. It lags when they focus on character angst...since how much does the audience need jealous chefs acting jealous? It's a good thing his father actually helped him since Bong-joo was looking like his father didn't care about him at all. Sung-chan is such a likeable and honest guy. I have a feeling he may throw the last tie-breaker competition. If he wins using commonplace ingredients and because of other reasons, his father's restaurant's reputation would be tarnished.

Osen 8! is about cooking rice over fire made by burning straw. um, I'll stick to my pressure cooker. Aoi Yu is great as the sweet Osen, but the other actors and actresses aren't very likable or interesting.
