HanaKimi 12! the end. I skimmed through this after it aired, but it was rather...long, so I held off watching the whole episode until now. In the final episode, Mizuki's secret is exposed, resolved, and exposed again, so she bows out of school.


In the midst of it, we get another fanservice-filled, cross-dressing episode with boy-love hints galore. While I enjoyed the boy-love hints and cross-dressing in the manga, the live-action drama kinda overkilled the idea; maybe it was the overacting. Obviously, the jdrama was better than the twdrama, buuut since the jdrama poured more of its time into the 'ikemen paradise' rather than the original story, the sweet shoujo feel to the story was lost.

On the other hand, the cast was great for the most part. Nakatsu was the best! Sekime, too! Nanba, Sano and Mizuki were pretty much how they should have been. Boosting the characters of Oscar, Hibari and Akiha unfortunately brought more nail-on-chalkboard annoyance rather than comedy. And I'm sad Umeda wasn't as gay as he boasted. In any case, I enjoyed the series, but not as much as Hanadan's manga-to-drama interpretation.
~7/10 rating~ The bluish camera filter or whatever they used to shoot the drama really made each scene so rich and colorful.
