kurosagi the dorama

seichanI started to watch the jdrama, Kurosagi. It features Yamapi and Horikita Maki who were also together in Nobuta wo Produce. Nobuta was an unpredictable and funny drama in 2005, so I thought that maybe Kurosagi would be a good series to check out in 2006. The first episode is here subbed.
++ Yamapi is hot and sings the opening song,
- but it's a bad song and my first impression is that he can't really act well in serious parts.
- Maki isn't that cute and I wonder why she is in all the hyped-up shows. She's kinda crossed-eyed...not that looks are everything or something.
+ There is decent production.
- The grandiose dramaesque speeches are cheesy at times,
+ but that's what makes jdrama so delightful and different from US television.
quick summary: Kurosaki 's father was cheated and he couldn't support his family, so his father kills his family and himself...Kurosaki lived to seek revenge. He becomes Kurosagi who uses the bad guys' games against themselves. Iforgetthegirl'sname. She is the obligatory do-gooder who whines about wrongness of it all.
my opinion: It's a serious...ly corny show but sweet. The little kid scene...c'mon.
