i've found some sort of answer to why i can't type *heart* as oryssein can on her mac.

here halfway down in a sorta explanation that i don't understand. BUT...since i can read *heart* and cut & paste it, i should be able to type it. i just have to find the code. yes, i have too much time on my hands. anyone who knows is free to tell me (^_^)...also would like the code for the smiley face. funny that there is korean in the IBM part.

(edit: it's alt + 3331 = ♥, but sometimes...not in someplaces)
