The Prince of Tennis II 1! like it's 1999.

+ The most ridiculous-sounding opening song ever made
+ A ridiculous opening scene
+ There's some sort of tennis dancing during the ending theme
- Overly dramatic tennis story with very little character development

Quick impression~ I'm not going to watch this show, but haha, that first episode was funny. The opening song started off as a bad anime pop song and then descended into something so horrible, it was funny. In the opening scene, Echizen races to catch the metro to JFK. Even after all this time, all the characters are still in middle school. Seigaku is invited to an elite tennis training camp along with all the other middle schools featured in the past. Everyone shows off their signature moves against some pushy high schoolers. At camp, they will each play each other to move up in ranking. I think that's the gist of the show; cheesy tennis drama. Episode 1 still amused me.

Chihayafuru 13! An Arata-centric episode...woot. Chihaya and Arata meet at nationals, but unfortunately Chihaya drops out of the team competition due to some sort of illness; heatstroke or something. Haven't had to say 'poor Taichi' in a while, but I foresee many pity parties in the future.
