Slight spoilers ahead...

Minami-ke 6! The only bad part of this show is that the animation quality has been terribly substandard these last few episodes. In this episode Chiaki's classmate, Makoto, has a crush on her older sister, Haruka. Chiaki picks up on this and doesn't want to share her older sister with him and stops inviting him over. Kana develops the idea that will let him visit. In comes Mako-chan, Kana's flat-chested kohai. It's not as perverted as it looks.


Shugo Chara 6! eh, I guess I'm getting too old for magical girl shows. This is a ballet episode. The bad guys are looking for a special embryo in an egg that grants wishes. Sounds kinda gross. Trust Japan to make a show about eggs and embryos in a cute magical manner. *sadly zzzz* dropping this show, since it is too formulaic.


Rental Magica 6! Since Goetia and Astral didn't get rid of the evil 'Night' in the last episode, the governing organization tells them that they still have to complete the job. This episode was actually nicely made; not really high quality, but looked as nice as the first episode. We learn why Honami is against Itsuki using his magic eye (glam sight), a tool which sees weakness in any magical thing. *spoilers* It is because the use of it changes his personality. Possibly dropping this show...may look up spoilers to see if the story gets any better.

Minami-ke 4! In the previous episodes, the sisters were watching a teacher-student love drama on tv. In this episode they get the role-playing game which is hilarious. We also get snapshots of more male characters in this show. An unidentified, older guy visits the sisters and they try to cheer him up after he was dumped. Haruka has an older student with a sweating problem who wants to recruit her for the volleyball team, and has odd fantasies about her. This is definitely a series I will continue to watch.



Shugo Chara 4! Again, the old lure-you-with-new-male-characters ploy. Might make it another 2 episodes if my brain doesn't die of sugar overdose.

Sis is amused that Halloween seems to be the holiday where there are finally more shoujo scanlation releases than yaoi/boy-love.
Speaking of shoujo, Hoshi no Utau (by Natsuki Takaya) recently began. It starts off similar to that of Fruits Basket where a seemingly parentless girl is taken in by an older, lazy guy. People gossip about her, but she is content. There are other cute characters around her, too...and one day on her 18th birthday she meets a mysterious boy who claims to be her boyfriend and reminds her of the stars...or something sappy like that.
