Soul Eater 2! is about the couple of Black Star and Tsubaki; a stupid, arrogant kid and smart weapon. They are assigned to assassinate Al Capone. As with the first episode, the episode contained an awesome fight with a cutesy ending. The next group looks hilarious; Death the Kid...haha. Anyway, this show is starting to feel alot like Cowboy Bebop where the heroes never really attain the goal they are assigned to, but still accomplish 'good'.

xxxHolic Kei 3! covers about 10 volumes in 3 episodes...or something like that. I look forward to the speedier version of Kohane's story, too. Fukujun is such an enjoyable Watanuki. I like watching him. Spiderman with boobs...isn't all that interesting..though the lesbian overtones was a bit smarmy. Someone did a side-by-side comparison of Baccano's tv version and DVD version. I wonder if xxxHolic could have the budget to clean up some of the visuals for the DVD version, but considering its fast DVD release schedule, I doubt it. Anyway, I like the cheap, but weird visuals in this episode. I think there was a PIG crossover during the scene with the toys. The preview of the next episode lacks Watanuki's new puke-green eye?

Persona - trinity soul- 14! they bumped the older brother out of the new opening...boo hoo. *cries* Looks like nobody knows what happened to Ryou, thus, he is suspect. Though the first half of this episode was dull, again, the writers bring new twists and more players in, but I'm dropping this show anyway. I liked the older brother's lack of personality & random bear costume. The other characters are typical high school kids who run around with loads of angst.

Vampire Knight 1! Half a dozen or so bishies who suck blood...muwha ha ha, lick lick.

- Studio Deen's trademark cut-corners-animation still makes it here,
+ but the design of the show and characters are still attractive.
+ Mamoru Miyano and Fukujun are in this one, too. Junichi Suwabe..too.
- Fukujun should have been Zero.
+ Opening by On/Off sounds ...like an angsty boy-love song.
+ The promise of incest and possible insanity...woot!

Quick summary ~ Day students drool over the Night students. Was Kaname in high school for 10 years? Well, using school to cover drug trafficking is a good excuse. Yuuki was saved by a vampire from a vampire when she was little. She is now some sort of guardian of the Night students along with her childhood friend, Zero, whose family was wiped out by vampires.

Quick opinion ~ The tiny bits of comedy remind me of Fruits Basket...or maybe that's because of Yui Horie or Studio Deen. *spoilers* Judging by the episode and op/ed visuals, Yuuki and Zero become one of the undead...c'mon, it's so obvious. Anyway, years and years ago, I had wished Anne Rice's vampires would be created into a manga or anime...there was a comic...a horrendously ugly one. I guess this can be a pretty substitute. I never made it through Hino Matsuri's lengthier works, but I like her artwork.

Special A 1! I also watched the first episode of Itazura no Kiss where the bottom of Class F girl falls of the aloof, arrogant No. 1 Class A guy. The anime was too old-school shoujo for me to say anything positive about it, so I skipped the usual review. Special A is about the No. 2 Class A girl who will undoubtedly fall for the arrogant No. 1 Class A guy.

- Decent animation may easily look bad if the animators are having an off-day.
- Uninspiring plot kinda made me sleepy
- Op/ed/bgm...all forgettable.
- Stereotypical cast
+ with Fukujun..who occasionally uses his Zero voice.

Quick summary ~ As stated, Hikari Hanazono wants to be No.1. She has to have sex with beat Kei Takishima to get there. They both are in the Special Ed A class at school where everyone drools at their feet.

Quick opinion ~ Couldn't make it past one volume of manga, though many people have said positive things about it. The anime doesn't seem like anything special considering what else is out this spring. Plus KareKano and Ouran Host Club made this plot and story much more funny.

and something I'm still watching...
Persona -trinity soul- 13! :( sad episode. Hopefully, he got the evil old guy...but since this is only halfway through the season...I'm thinking 'no'. boo hoo.
Catching up with my twelve-year-old-boyish self.

Hunter x Hunter ch 275! got caught up with all the new chapters and aw, Gon seemed to have disappointed Killua. Killua had such a sad face when Gon went all Dragonball Z angry. Maybe this is a turning point in their friendship. Coincidentally, sis and I skimmed through alot of the anime the past weekend. Gon and Killua were such cute characters back then.

Naruto ch 395! so he's dead...is that like soap opera dead? I'm sad Shino's attack was basically useless.

Bleach ch 108 special? what's going on with the random numbering? Anyway, I hope they bring in more how-I-turned-to-the-darkside flashbacks, since they are more interesting than seeing Ichigo get his arse kicked.

and anime
Persona -trinity soul- 12! Looks like big brother might kick the bucket soon...or is that like the soap opera-dead thing again? And the head-honcho is some old, raspy-voiced man in a wheelchair which seems to be the standard evil leader in many stories nowadays.

Spice and Wolf 13! the end...until that missing episode comes out on DVD. No bloody guts flying as Horo takes care of the wolves and bad business men in the least destructive way possible...darn. Well, if you wanted more nekid, nipple-less girls, I'm sure there will be more in the Spring. If you want wolf-girls who deal in business, there is Wagaya no Oinari-sama which looks to be more dull than interesting. As with Rental Magica, the anime felt very truncated and simplified. I did enjoy the silly banter between Horo and Lawrence and episode 13's ending argument was very cute. I suppose the audience is again supposed to buy the novels now to get more of this story. *sigh* ~7/10 rating~ for a charming series with likable opening/ending songs, fun characters & nice setting. The bad part was the lack of detail, plot and development.

Minami-ke -Okawari- 12! is about sports day at Chiaki's school. There's a touching moment with Chiaki realizes that Fuyuki has transferred out of school without ever truly expressing his feelings.

Persona -trinity soul- 11! Morimoto (geek girl)'s friends find out about her addiction to persona pulling. They try to help her through withdrawal. Very odd since everyone else tries to use it like a power while she uses it to get high or relaxed or sexually satisfied. Blech.
Photobucket

Persona -trinity soul- 10! happens to be the same day as episode 9, but focuses on the what Jun and Ryou did with their day while Shin was out. I'm always tempted to drop this show because the story is pretty slow and pointless. On the other hand, this episode did throw in a few more curveballs, and it was cute when Jun took them to see a kid's movie which made them all cry.

Photobucket

Spice and Wolf 11! With one two episodes left, it is painfully obvious that Horo isn't gonna make it to her homeland. I guess this is another one of those series where the popularity of the manga is only large enough for a short and small-budgeted anime that covers only a portion of the manga. Ah well, in this episode Horo and Lawrence come up with a scheme to get him out of debt and toilet-paper the Church at the same time.
Persona -trinity soul- 9! is where you learn about what happened to Jun's twin and the whys of his personality. The red-haired girl and whale feathers come up again, but only to bring more confusion into the story. It's pretty disappointing to have consistently nice animation and no action.

Minami-ke -Okawari- 9! Haruka gets an offer to study overseas...the rest of the episode is pretty random and forgettable.

And My Sassy Girl US-remake poster ...who are those actors?

Since this is a blah post, was looking around for something cute to add--
Easter is really early this year, a week after St. Patty's. Target's Chiyo Chiyo items are really cute. They seem to be related to the Piyo-chans from Japan.
The moon's been looking all lovely and very cheese-like the past week, but we're in for another week of gloomy snowy-rainy weather.

no caps since there was nothing special to cap...babbling is still here...

Gundam 00 20! Stem cell research..woot. Not only does the year something-something-gundam-time eliminate reliance on oil. They've developed limb regrowth using stem cells. Now if the Gundams can eradicate war, the world would be a utopia...but whoops, everyone has a Gundam now....goodbye utopia. I like how all the Meisters can smile now. It'll be interesting to see how Saji changes after all that's happened. Some parts of this series feels like Yun Kouga's influence; the veda computer & angel reference...mullets. Almost the end of season one, after those last couple deaths, I suspect more bad things to come, but rest assured, the Meisters will survive to provide innumerable marketing opportunities.

Persona -trinity soul- 8! I thought that this show would focus more on the older brother's secret research, but instead it's been circling Shin's high school friends and their problems. In this episode weird things happen when a new transfer student appears.
Photobucket
Minami-ke -Okawari- 7! It's V-day again. This episode unlike the previous few was actually really cute and funny. The Minami sisters make chocolate. Well, Haruka and Chiaki do while Kana eats everything. Yum. Toma, Makoto & Fujioka's confusion continues.

Persona -trinity soul- 7! I guess Ryu did mellow out after his stint as a teddy bear. Shin and Jun go on a trip with their friends. Nothing much happens.
Photobucket

Persona -trinity soul- 6! is a one-shot filler and is actually adorable. After 5 episodes of setting the whole story up and building up the angst, the writers throw in something so that big brother doesn't look so much like an arse.

Manga update:
Loveless - March's chapter seems to be heading towards something exciting. I always knew Tokyopop's translation sounded stupid, and it's good to know that fan translators had it right with good reason. *spoilers* There are seven moons. Anyone observing the fact that Ritsuka seems to be looking younger the further we get in the story?

Hagaren - Ch 80 though it feels like ch 280. Judging by the lack of activity in the fan community, I think most people have dropped this. It was a tad boring during that whole northern campaign, but that last chapter had some gruesome fun. This chapter is the aftermath..with a funny-looking squirmy eyeball creature.

Naruto - Ch 209384867836 or 388 continues Sasuke and Itachi's --visually fun, but actually cliche-- battle for the eyes. Where have I seen that before? hm? There's gotta be some sort of ancient asian myth about plucking eyeballs out as a form of true love. Anyway, I'm still waiting for Kakashi's eye story to be animated.
Photobucket
Persona -trinity soul- 5! The strength of this show is its persona fighting action and nice visuals. The weakness of the show is that for someone who has never played the game, there's no attachment formed to the world or its characters. The oldest brother acts like a moronic robot and the other two seems fairly hum-drum--ie. no fanservice. I'll stick it out until next week.

Minami-ke -Okawari- 5! Kana and Chiaki make a boo-boo and try to get their friends to help correct it. I'm hoping this season gets a little bit better than this. Where are the Minami brothers?
After being excited about all the dramas this winter, I kinda prefer to watch action and fluff. Might have to bookmark all but Ashita- for later when I'm not annoyed at all humans.

Cartoon people are still ok...
Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 3! I wonder if the mangaka or anime producers are friends with Yun Kouga. This is the second time Loveless got a nod along with Gundam 00. Code Geass got a thinly veiled nod as did some other series. Or maybe this is just that new fanservice for otakus; crossovers. In this episode Harumi is depressed to find that the doujinshi she wrote is about underaged characters. Ha. And the second half is frighteningly true.

Photobucket

Persona -trinity soul- 4! Mentally unstable Jun reveals his persona to his brothers. How about a heart-to-heart next episode? I'm glad the animation continues to be consistent; the grandiose bgm though...huh.
Marking yesterday as the first time V-'s automated system fixed the internet connection without me having to connect to a human. Maybe the robots are getting better? Go robots! Take over the world!

Naruto Shippuden 43-44! Out of all the Naruto fights, that one was pretty lame. The actual fighting was alright, but the writers did squeeze in visuals that were more stupid-looking than 'cool'. Anime Sakura is looking a bit weepy at times. Anime Yamato is looking a bit sloooow. Maybe I should stick with the manga.

Photobucket

Minami-ke -Okawari- 2! Naked shots seem to be the theme of this season's show..along with weird alien eyes. In this episode, banchou is almost revived.

Persona -trinity soul- 3! um...some cool persona action, but you kinda want to kick the brothers into communicating with each other. um, yeah, not sure what's going on.

I think I will try to read all these books on the 100 books every child should read list by telegraph.co.uk They all sound like fun. I think I spent my childhood reading Nancy Drew or Babysitters Club books. The ones on the list that I did read are ones that I've read well past childhood...well, except for the ones that I had to read for school-- Wuthering Heights...blech.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate OVA! a two part ova where the same story is told twice, once from the boy's point-of-view and once from the girl's point-of-view. It's a simple shoujo story taking place in a world somewhat like Tokyo. A boy and girl go out on a date. There's a miniature donkey involved. The animation style and character design is what makes it worth taking a quick look. It's not an earth-shattering stylistic change, but there a nice simple change to the visuals that makes it fun to watch. Sakurai Takahiro is always nice to listen to, too.

Photobucket
Persona -trinity soul- 2! Shin and Jun head to their first day of school while big brother goes to do his police chiefing duties. Shin learns that kids pull their shadows/persona out to get high. Trust high school kids to find inexpensive ways to fry their brains. Surely, this is Adult Swim material.
Photobucket
Minami-ke ~Okawari~ 1! Gonna take time to get used to the new alien eyes and visual production of this season, but this show seems to continue where the first left. I do like the richer color palette though. In this episode, Haruka, Kana & Chiaki and some of their friends head to the hot springs, so that fanboys can see the girls semi-naked. Mako-chan and Toma have trouble deciding whether to get in the hot springs. Fujioka (who is now more platinum blond) gets interrogated by the Minami relative and gets an eyeful of Kana. This new production team bumps up the quality, but the new style makes the show look less innocent; that and the butt swaggering ending.

From three sisters to three brothers..
Photobucket
Persona -trinity soul- 1! Visually, this is nicer than anything else I am currently watching and it has a catchy opening. This starts out as two brothers visit their older brother who is out being a police detective slaying some sort of evil persona with his own persona. The middle child seems like a normal sort of boy until we find that he also has the power to fight persona. The youngest brother had a twin sister to whom he likes to pretend to talk. Probably need another episode before I can boot it.

From magical boys to magical girl..
Photobucket
Hatenkou Yuugi 1! man, i got a crappy raw. Sis said the manga wasn't too bad and from her, that is high praise indeed. A young girl, Rahzel, is kicked out of her house by her father with instructions to see the world. The opening and ending songs are pretty generic anime pop tunes. Rahzel immediately drags random bishonens and they start getting into paranormal trouble to earn money. It'd be nice to watch some mahou shoujo show this winter, but this was pretty boring.

Photobucket
Gundam 00 13! Graham is moving up on my 'not so bad' character list and Marina Ismail keeps moving up on the 'annoying as hell' list. Ah well, the Gundams save the old man and he & Marina are able to soothe their country a bit.
