Katanagatari 12! the end. After what happens to Togame, Shichika basically goes against all of her orders. All the swords get humorously broken; the tenth was cute. The blond princess somehow redeems herself though I'm not quite sure how I didn't end up annoyed with her. Because you get attached to Shichika's relationships with prior characters, namely Togame, the end was a little sad.

Despite the title of the series, this isn't your typical shounen series, the fight scenes mock actual shounen anime and were usually ridiculously short. I suppose the focus was the push-and-pull dialogue between the characters. I didn't really like the character design, but it grows on you. The overall production style of the show was fair. Even if the episodes were extra long and they cut corners, the flaws were not too obvious. There was a rich palette and the background scenes were all very screencap-able. I did find the 50 minute episode per month not a real benefit. 50 minutes is a long time to listen to Nisioisin's dialogue and from month to month, you forget what just happened. ~8/10 rating~ I'd still recommend the series.

Denyuuden 23! Ah, a small break from all the dense, gloomy events of the last few episodes. It's Sion's birthday celebration. And then ends with an expected twist. If not for the fact that this isn't a popular series, there'd be some hardcore doujinshi running rampant. One more episode to go, right? or maybe a 2nd season?

Tegami Bachi: REVERSE 11! Did I ever mention that the very purple palette gets tiring to watch. Maybe at the end after they get rid of the artificial sun, there will be a change in palette and the munchkins will come out to play. The nuns working for Reverse meet their end (or they could have just lost their hearts?) Lag finally conveys his heart to Gauche. I read a little further in the manga and I like the twist that will come. I'm glad that this season has more depth. Last season was 85% throwaway.

Togainu no chi 10! some planes bomb the blond pervert's home interrupting Rin x Il Re x Akira's battle. This show was scarily terrible, but finally improved just a smidge near the end of this episode. The flashback was funny; unintentionally, of course.

Arakawa Under the Bridge's opening theme is Etsuko Yakushimaru's 'Cosmos vs. Alien'. The PV features dying bunny cosplayers in slow motion. Nice!

Katanagatari 11! The last shot at Maniwa Pengin was a tad disturbing; in the mouth, poor kid. All the Maniwa people are killed off in this episode. I also didn't expect Shichika to not react to the gunfire at the end.

Togainu no chi 6! Drug use. Apparently, these guys haven't heard that drugs are bad for you.

Arakawa Under the Bridgex2 7! Health screening time.

Otome Youkai Zakuro 7! Agemaki visits his family with Zakuro in tow.

Katanagatari 10! Interesting episode which has Togame and Shichika reflecting on their weaknesses and past decisions. For Shichika, it was not being able to use a sword and why he was fighting. For Togame, it was the trauma of losing her father. I was trying to figure out why Togame's father's voice sounded so familiar. He sounded like Clow Read; sadistically nice and pleasant.

Otome Youkai Zakuro 3! Zakuro and Agemaki investigate a town where girls are being spirited away. We learn that Zakuro's mother disappeared.

A couple shows have wrapped up, so spoilers ahead, but no worries, the final episodes just read, 'buy the manga'...

Kuroshitsuji S2 12! the end. While I enjoyed the WTF-LOL between Claude and Sebastian, I didn't particularly like how they warped Ciel's personality to fit the anime-only story. So Alois didn't want the butlers to have Ciel's soul, so he made a contract with Hannah to make Ciel a demon. So Ciel blandly accepting his fate, abandons his life as a human, and hangs out with Sebastian for all of eternity (since Ciel made a new contract with Sebastian so that he would remain his butler). Other than Ciel and Sebastian being together, I don't think Ciel should have that kind of non-personality...and I didn't think Sebastian would lose to Hannah/Alois. ~7/10 rating~ like the first season, I like the atmosphere that Kuroshitsuji presents; macabre with humor. The anime's story however, never ends well.

Uraboku 24! the end. I liked Takashiro's entrance, but man, was that final fight anti-climactic. This is the other type of original anime ending that is annoying. Not an original ending, but it is an open-ended episode. Yuki spreads his God's Light and the bad guys retreat; supposedly, the light makes them see their mistakes. The last we see of Reiga is him sitting by a window looking all forlorn...boo hoo. The 2nd half of the episode was the Zweilts being involved in comedic BL activities. It's a shame Yuki and Luka never got to explore their past; this calls for NC-17 fanfics pronto! ~7/10 rating~ for eye-candy and a tinge of BL.

Denyuuden 12! While Frouade was taking care of troublesome nobles & his perverted father on his land, another pink-haired guy (probably related to the ones after the Alpha Stigma users) attacks him. They have matching glowy rings.

Photobucket

Katanagatari 9! Shichika's next opponent refuses to fight him, if he does not use a physical weapon. She then chooses to train him. Togame eventually conceives of a plan to beat her with Shichika's bad sword skills.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood OVA 4! shows a little bit of Roy Mustang and Maes Hughes's time in the army when they were about 18...bittersweet.

Hotaru no Hikari S2 10! Bontaro!

Katanagatari 8! I don't remember what the first opening sounded like since I always skipped ahead, but hey, it's Ali Project now. I think the new ending song is sung by Togame's seiyuu. Princess Hiei is featured in the beginning of the episode, but this was a pretty dull episode overall. This month's sword is a robot doll. Is it me or did Togame shrink this episode?

A couple trailers~
Ashita no Joe live-action movie - hm

Otome Yokai Zakuro - boys in military uniform, fox-girls in kimono, fanservice for all courtesy of Lily Hoshino

Kuroshitsuji S2 2! Even better opening visuals now. The writers are haphazardly putting this show together, but this was fun to watch. Ciel's servants, Sebastian and Elizabeth are silly together. Rather than trying to follow the manga, I think the anime is now just hyping the goth genre with a super-butler show; not that it's a terrible idea or anything.

Katanagatari 7! Good episode. Shichika vs. his sister. There were some lovely animation shots in this episode and I liked the scene capped below. cute.

Kim Yoo-na's first MV.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 60! It's the near-the-end climax. Big blob becomes a bigger blob, and is trying to eat God...oh no.

Photobucket
Uraboku 9! Not sure why they even bother with the generic bad guys when the main characters run around sad and confused all on their own. I can tell why fans like Shusei and Hotsuma more than the main couple. Shusei has the horrible disfiguring scar which was caused by Hotsuma; ie. good fanfic material.

Katanagatari 6! Halfway mark as Shichika gets another sword and without needlessly killing too many people this time...though 2 more Maniwani members die anyway. Finally warming up to this, and the slowness has alot to do with Shichika's monotone face and speech. He's up against his sister next month which should be a good episode.

House of Five Leaves 6! should've known episode 6 would contain fanservice. There was something going on in this episode, but that last scene..adorable.

Uraboku 6! Yuki arrives at the Giou house and meets the more of the bishie cast plus mascot blob.

Katanagatari 5! They are stretching the definition of 'katana' when the 5th sword is a suit of armor; ultimate defense indeedy. Still, dozing a little in the middle; 40 minutes of dialogue and excess still frames does that to ya.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 58! Bradley falls in the moat, gold-toothed scientist wants Mustang to perform alchemy on Hawkeye, Izumi and Ed take on black blob, etc; the usual things.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 53! Hasn't been as much Roy Mustang this series since they sped through the beginning arcs (very little Roy x Ed slash..pity), but rage and Mustang is a good thing. This was one of those episodes that felt like 5 minutes...more puleez.

Katanagatari 4! We see how Nanami is taking care of the island while her brother is away. We see that she has a more lax attitude towards killing than her brother.

Uraboku 2! Yuki angsts over his growing powers. His half-brother comes in with his flowy ponytail to explain a few things. The show continues to flaunt its drama like a model strutting down the catwalk. I did enjoy the two line laugh with Koyappi at the end .

Katanagatari 3! the preview for the next episode made me forget what happened in this one...more action in 5 seconds than in the whole 45 minutes. Well, thinking back, Shichika ends up knocking off the sword-bearers so quickly that the animators don't really bother showing it. This episode was ok though. It showed that A. Despite the sword-bearer being a decent person who ran a sort-of halfway house/shrine for abused woman, Shichika has no qualms about killing her and B. The dialogue gets kinda amusing right when you start to nod off.

Kimi ni Todoke 22! That's a perfectly shoujo Christmas episode! I do like when every scene is picturesque and all the character details are just there so lovely.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 47! I do like how the mangaka makes every single character whether good or bad very, very likable...even the insignificant animal chimeras. In this episode, Ed & Greed/Lin plus the 2 animal chimeras fight against Pride and Gluttony. In comes Lan Fan out of nowhere.
Photobucket

Katanagatari 2! Apparently, I do not know how to count to 30. Shichika and Togame move onto the next sword after picking up an outfit for Shichika and making up a catchphrase for him. Though cute, it wasn't as funny as it could have been. Shichika could use a more interesting seiyuu. I know he's supposed to be a bit 'country', naive and easy-going, but the seiyuu sometimes sounds like he is bored out his mind. And even though the animation style is nice, the animation or lack thereof, can get tiresome. Well, there is the random bits of comedy that bring a little charm to the predictability of the episodes thus far. For a series that had high entertainment potential, it's not starting off with much *oomph*.
