Late on the spring season
Apr. 21st, 2013 08:16 amSurprisingly, there were no titles this spring that I was anticipating, but I did watch a few. None are worth continuing.

Karneval 1-3! horrible theme songs...
+ Good production, visually circus-y
- Unoriginal cast
Quick impression~ A young black-haired, talented thief saves a young white-haired, moronic boy who has exceptional hearing. The Circus is a secret government organization whose members have magical powers and who also perform for the townspeople. Bad guys are after the white-haired kid.

Arata Kangatari 1! Arata and Arata switch places.
- Terrible production
Quick impression~ Yuu Watase (Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres)'s latest manga-turned-anime is a disappointing affair. She does love her 12 senshi cast. In this case they appear as baddies. Both main characters named Arata were pretty uninspired and the production really didn't help.

Hataraku Maousama 1! Another demon king show?
+ Potentially cute
Quick impression~ Like the previous season, this season has its own take on the Demon King versus Hero show. This time the Demon King under attack from the Hero retreats across universes to modern Japan. He and his subordinate quickly learn that they need money to survive. He gets a job at not-McDonald's.

Suisei no Gargantia 1! mech anime...
+ Good production
Quick impression~ Random army is fighting random plant aliens. Army retreats but a lone soldier fails to tag-a-long in the hyper space jump or something. He gets lost and finds himself on the mysterious planet Earth. Some misfits find him.
