Magi 4! It's fun to see what cute things Aladdin will do next. In this episode Aladdin meets an old lady who is the head of a small clan of people. A nearby group of people want to conquer them.

Hunter x Hunter 2012 53! The Phantom Troupe with the Zoldyck family deceive the mafia community. Kurapika is sad.

Psycho-Pass 3! The gang investigate deaths at a government office that is outside the reach of any network. Naturally, the employees' psyche are a tad disturbed without the ability to waste time online playing angry birds.

Zetsuen no Tempest 3! Gotta love childhood flashbacks. There's a feeling that Mahiro and Yoshino may betray each other later on, but the flashback was really sweet.

K 4! Shiro tries to prove his innocence. Despite the bromance and touches of humor, the show doesn't do try to make the story exciting. And the soft blue filter on animation is just distracting. Dropped.

Psycho-Pass 2! This is one of those a day in the life of episodes where you see the world the main characters live in. The futuristic sci-fi world revolves around the 'Sibyl' system which reads the psycho-pass readings of people as young as 5 years of age. The high tech world also easily controls their living space, clothing and dietary habits. Anyway, Akane, the newbie, wants to find her place in the world. Even though she shot Kogami, he likes that she thinks outside of the system.

Zetsuen no Tempest 3! The other almost BL action anime. The boys run from Samon's henchman. Yoshino learns magic.

K 3! Mikoto apparently wants to smush on Munakata, but BL-teasing is as far as it gets. The rest of the episode features random blabbing about a mysterious plot. This feels like BL role-playing game and also has pretty bad game background music. Out of the two fake BL action shows, I was really thinking about dropping this until the absurd scene at the end.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventures 3! This continues to be so terrible that it is funny. Dio's crime is reveal, he kills Jojo's father, and attempts to kill Jojo. While his home burns, Dio and Jojo fight each other. The London thug-turned-friend, Speedwagon, was amusing.

Psycho-Pass 1! the last new show on my list.

+ Decent production
- Typical naive female character lead who will undoubtedly soften the heart of the icy male characters...zzz...hope she at least goes 'psycho' once.
+ Dark world

Quick impression~ Machines are able to read people's mental state. If a person is a 'latent criminal', they are rehabilitated or eliminated. In episode 1, a newbie female detective is introduced to the Enforcers, latent criminals who are used to catch other criminals. They use guns, Dominators, that tell them what kind of force is needed; stun or eliminate. The newbie and Enforcers chase someone who knew about his bad readings, then ran, then thought all was hopeless, and decides to rape a woman. The guns then read the victim as being beyond help, thus, needing to be eliminated, but the newbie talks her out of her bad mental state. Fairly predictable in the first few minutes, but has potential to be a great thriller. The elimination mode on the guns cause the target to explode with maximum blood spillage...if you are into that sort of thing. Wasn't there a movie like this...

Hunter x Hunter 2012 51! Chrollo Lucifer lets his gang run wild at the auction site. This episode doesn't stray too far from the original OVA. Hope the upcoming battles have some goodies.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventures 2! Now, that's an opening! While the production in the first episode didn't impress, the opening song and visuals are a great representation of this extreme anime. It's 7 years later and Jojo and Dio have become huge young men admired by everyone. Jojo not totally naive, suspects Dio of poisoning his father. He travels to London to find proof and an antidote. He befriends some thugs with his honesty. Dio experiments with the vampire mask.

K 2! Is it me or is Viz's broadcast not as sharp as CR's or Funimation's?...blech. A gang of super-powered young people are looking for a young boy, Isana Yashiro, who is presumed to have killed one of their members. He taunts one of the guys before getting away. While there's plenty of action and bromance, naturally, there's also a cat that can turn into a naked woman. This show feels like Durarara, and there's some sort of story, but so far it's just aimless running around, and almost funny humor.

Zetsuen no Tempest 2! Hey, Shakespeare-influence anime. Mahiro gets his friend, Yoshino, up to speed on how he obtained magic powers from Hakaze who is stuck on an island before advising Yoshino to escape the area. The residents of the city have all turned to metal. Mahiro is set on revenge against the person who murdered his sister. Yoshino finds that he wants to help him. The dramatic music and roundabout dialogue didn't make much sense at first until they mentioned Shakespeare. With exception to the dialogue, the anime just resembles any other mysterious sci-fi action show, so far.

Little Busters 2! Naoe finds Sakura Kinomoto-clone character on the roof of the school. They eat sweets. She is recruited for the baseball team. Rin is sent mysterious messages via stray cats. Thought about dropping this until the cliffhanger.

Code Breaker 2! Ogami fails to kill Sakura twice. Sakura is persistent at telling him to stop killing. She angsts when he tells her off. Zzz...dropped.

Sukitte Ii na yoi 2! Thought I recognized the singer of the opening song; it's the late Ritsuko Okazaki. Anyway, the popular boy tries to get closer to the outcast causing the other girls to become jealous...where have I heard this before... Despite the nice production, this is really a sappy, predictable romance. Dropped.

Ah! the fall season when boys go back to school and dream of living in an RPG or being surrounded by girls. Throw in some bromance and yay, I'm there. (Part 2...the not-so-great)

K 1! a show that will be hard to google.

+ Decent production
- but annoying style, blah bluish tint and blurry scenes
+ BL potential is high

Quick impression~ A young man and his gang have a reddish firey power. They fight against a uniformed group who have swords and a water-type power. Cut to a young white-haired young boy and his day at school....snooze for half of an episode. Then the gang comes after him, and then he is saved; and blushes so prettily. Despite the boring episode, it did pick up near the end. The attactive character design will keep many people interested.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 1! Joestar is an awesome name!

- Mediocre production
+/- Comic-book storytelling style
+ Intriguing 1980's vibe...

Quick impression~ A poor boy, Dio Brando, is invited to live with the Joestar family due to a debt. He strives to make Jonathan Joestar (Jojo)'s life miserable while being the perfect person in front of everyone else including Jojo's father; aw, poor dog. There's something entertaining about the dramatic way of the studio decided to animate this story which is probably a bad thing, since it seems like it wants to be a serious drama. Like Zetman, the characters are overzealous in their good and evil personalities. The story is exaggerated by the comic-book like text and stills. While not the smoothest production this season, it's one of the most interesting.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai 1! same character designers/production team as K'ON and Haruhi.

+ More amusing than expected

Quick impression~ A young boy starts high school with the intention of blending in. A young girl who thinks she is living in a fantasy world tries to draw him back into being a dork. While the geek humor works, I'm not impressed enough to continue to watch.

Photobucket

Shin Sekai Yori 1! Splat, splat!

+ Intriguing opening and beginning to the episode
- 2nd half of the episode falls flat
+ Lovely backgrounds
- Dull character designs with ugly school uniforms

Quick impression~ A young girl develops powers, has her powers suppressed and then enrolls in a school for kids who have powers. There's an undercurrent of a dark mystery and the adults are definitely hiding something from the students. Can't say I really care to see what happens to the young girl. Hope she gets eaten by the evil cat-like monster.

Photobucket

BTOOOM! 1! bu-TOOM...fannypacks! and boobs!

- Boring
- Terribly slow main character

Quick impression~ A young NEET who'd rather play BTOOOM than find a job finds himself stranded on an island a fannypack full of bombs and a gem embeded in his hand; it's real-life BTOOOM. The episode ends with a well-endowed young blond bathing in a stream. I guess they've got their audience now.
