On the hunt...
May. 28th, 2010 11:08 pm...for a good asian comedy.

Coffee House 1-2! kdrama. Young, naive female with financial troubles and bad hair; well-off, talented, arrogant male; pretty female friend; nice-guy friend; love-hate relationships; check check, check, check, check. Throw in a meddlesome and embarrassing family and you've got a typical kdrama. Seung-yeon is hired as an assistant to a popular writer, Jin-Soo, as a favor to his nice-guy friend. He gives her meaningless tasks to do, since he is anal retentive about everything and would rather do things himself; pencil sharpening and coffee making in particular. After finding out that her job is a sham, she convinces Jin-Soo to teach her how to become a professional assistant. He uses eccentric methods to get a few laughs for himself. If this stays out of the romance area for awhile, it should be an interesting comedy. It does make small nods to the popular Coffee Prince drama with the pretty-boy barista side character. Not totally sold on the show which has mostly to do with Seung-yeon's forced bumbling, but might save it for a rainy day.
