Always get a weirdly annoyed feeling when a stranger addresses me as 'dear' or 'honey' in an email. If you are the age of my grandmother and talking to me, then it doesn't bother me. If you are younger and speaking to me, it usually sounds demeaning...though there are a few flighty-type people who can get away with using it since every other word out of their mouth is 'honey' or 'dear'...and they usually have a southern accent. Anyway...

Eden of the East 6! is a club that Saki is in. A 'Mayama' character and Saki's other friends are introduced. A ton of ideas are thrown into this episode with the explanation of the club, the program they wrote, and what the blue-haired woman is doing. The 'Johnny' hunter....ouch! Hope they save Ohsugi.

07-Ghost 5-6! Studio Deen looks to be sacrificing the original story in favor of playing up the boy-love factor, but in a sloppy, cheap way. *plop* Dropped.

Shiroi Haru 3! Everyone knew that she was his daughter, but who cares. The bully-scaring was adorable.
Guin Saga 3! Hm, still not convinced that this is something worth watching. The fight between Guin and the Dark-lord-type bad guy was rather badly directed, silly even. Anyway, Rinda hooks up with an annoying monkey-girl in who is in the opening song, so darn, we are stuck with her.

07-Ghost 4! Studio Deen is failing at making the manga-to-anime transition exciting. Nothing of interest happens in this episode. I'll give it the old 6 episode test and see if it makes a turn around.
Too lazy to catch up on lj flist...so hopefully I didn't miss anything entertaining. I probably need to cut some communities out; the ones laden with icon spam and constant yaoi requesting.

07-Ghost 2-3! Wish the opening song, bgm, and overall animation weren't so generic. I know this gets better, but maaan, they are taking their sweet time with the introductory part of the story...it is making me sleepy. So far, Teito Klein has taken refuge in the Church. He gets to know the priests and nuns. There were a couple cute parts; the kids lighting the hallway and the eyefish dinner.

And I'm liking this new trend of almost simultaneous Japanese-US releases. Not a huge fan, but Rumiko Takahashi's new manga, Rin-ne is online to read, and will be updated each week as it is released in Japan. It is about a schoolgirl and shinigami.
Too much salt this week. I feel pickled.

Higashi no Eden / Eden of the East 1! Did he say he was Jason Bourne?

+ Great production
+ Great opening/ending visuals and songs.
+ Interesting story
+ Attractive characters
+ Humor!

Quick impression~ A girl decides to try to throw a coin into a fountain in front of the White House. She gets in trouble, but a naked guy distracts the policeman. Things happen and they head to Japan together. It's funny that the Americans look like Americans while the Japanese look like anime characters. I'm really interested to see how they approach the terrorism angle. And there's already a movie planned?

07-Ghost 1! Gotta love the Church in anime.

+ Attractive designs
- Generic production
- Standard cast of characters
+ Story with possibilities...and fanservice.

Quick impression~ Standard anti-social boy, Teito, and over-enthusiastic boy, Mikage, are students in a military academy. Teito has a flashback, and thinks that the one of the military leaders killed his father, so he attacks, and flees the school. This would be really good if the cheap choices in animation didn't stand out so much. The first episode pretty much digs right into the story and drama and...yaoi fanwork material. I think I'll keep watching for the fanservice.

Tales of the Abyss 22-26! the end. The weak part of the show is that everyone is coincidentally so connected that it gets a little boring after awhile. The 'significant' deaths go by so quickly; Natalia's real father, Asch, and everyone beforehand. The strength is always the last five minutes of each episode where they throw some 'cool' twist in. The final boss fight was very RPG and weak-looking, but the final final scene was pretty nice. I enjoyed Asch's rants about his replica, Luke, and their relationship was pretty unique. It would have been more interesting if the story had revolved around Asch. The story really fell apart when you realize that everyone basically wants the same thing. Anyway, 7/10 rating for some good twists and turns. Tear's fonic hymn is nice.
I like how 07-Ghost is promoting itself. It has a full thorough trailer and both opening & ending song samples on its website. Definitely putting it on my to-watch list. Plus, I like warped anime government/church stories.
