Really like Rightstuf's Emma package; sub-only, the whole first season, the whole translated booklet, and very affordable price. The bad thing is the fact that while I enjoyed watching it, it's not worth re-watching. But I do hope Rightstuf does well with that title since every detail about their release is attractive and I hope they and other companies start presenting more anime releases similarly.

Spice and Wolf 6! Though the downgrade in animation was more apparent in this episode, it was a great episode. Horo finally shows her true not-so-scary self. The business with the silver is completed and they move on. It's interesting to see that while Lawrence tries to be a smooth businessman, he is still quite a scaredy-cat.

Minami-ke -Okawari- 6! The power goes out. The Minami sisters have fun in the snow. Another lackluster episode...

For the last bit of V-day, here's Laruku's incredibly sappy love song, All Year Around Falling in Love live. I do enjoy the part where it sounds like a shark might start attacking. Scary shirt there.

Hey, IJATKOTCS(?) looks very fun.
Kiyoura Natsumi's single for Spice and Wolf is lovely. It mostly reminds me of Maaya Sakamoto's songs for Escaflowne, since they both convey the sound of their respective anime fantasy world so well. ddl

Spice and Wolf 5! A smooth rescue and conversation make a mildly interesting episode. Chloe is in cahoots with the Church. boo hiss.

On another note, can't tell if I've been really tired or really bored lately. zzzz.
Mismatched voices and nature gods of sorts--

Spice and Wolf 4! Similar to how I thought Lawrence sounded younger than he looked, Marle Height(?) sounded more elderly than he appeared in the opening song. Lawrence and Horo uncovered the con behind the silver coins and find a way to profit. Another company sends goons to target them, and Horo gets captured.

Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi 2! This show lags a bit, but it's unique. The deer somewhat convince Okawa to listen to them, but in the end, he unknowingly fails and becomes 'marked'--Deerman is born, I guess. The talking deer looks like a doe, but sounds like old man. Ok, the talking deer actually looks like a puppet. With that voice, you'd expect a 12-point elderly buck or something.
Am very much enjoying UVERworld's newest album, Proglution. My favorite song as of this week is ENERGY. First, sample on youtube without reading the comments. Rockin' tune, yes? Then read the lyrics. I doubt anyone is able to sing about hybrid cars in the same cool style. The album itself is 18 tracks of upbeat hard rock songs with a handful of digital background music tracks and 2 ballads. I sorta like their Bugright album a little better, but this is very much in keeping what you'd associate with the group; rap, hard guitar, audience-participating songs. The only thing that keeps me from totally loving this group is Takuya's high notes and their ballads. *cringe* Anyway, a couple people mentioned that they were almost guests at this year's Fanime, but they decided to concentrate their efforts in Japan this year. Darn. I would have dragged [livejournal.com profile] bumpybear with me. ^_^

Spice and Wolf 3! covers the power of currency and how to make money or swindle people for money. It's like Finance 101...with a sometimes naked female instructor.

Randomness- I like when you d/l a large zip file and find that it is huge because the author decided to double all the contents.

Not a spoiler but...hey, is it Yasha-ou, or just a random new character with lovely, long flowing hair on Code Geass.

Gundam 00 14! A transition episode with a great new opening (buriguri) and ending(stephanie); haircut ♥. Love the domesticity, tension, and the introduction of new characters. Interesting episode notes: Lockon pretends to like women, Setsuna is a peeping-tom, Tieria & Alleluia are workaholics.

Spice and Wolf 2! This episode delves into the world of the peddling business. The banter between Horo and Lawrence is somewhat interesting, too, as Lawrence gets upset when Horo keeps referring to him as young & naive.

Two more new dramas to sample...
Winter must be the time that Japanese people snuggle in front of their tvs. I swear that there was no dramas to watch last fall.

And Emma's new chapter

Smooching after the wedding.

Spice and Wolf 1! The opening and ending songs actually stand out. The opening is haunting ballad and the ending is a charming song in engrish. This show has mid-quality animation, but it feels like it will be an interesting 'journey' anime similar to Seirei no Moribito or Hagaren...ok, not too similar, but you understand what I mean by journey. This is about a wolf goddess, Horo, whose worshippers no longer really need her due to progress and Christianity, so she wants to travel home. Enter Lelouch Lawrence, a traveling peddler. I'm fond of fantasy stories that have creative rules within the world, so I hope that this develops well. Who am I kidding--I'm only watching because I like the title, 'Spicy Wolf.'
