Travel notes: Tokyo - Cloud and Fog!
Oct. 29th, 2010 09:41 amThe Sunrise tour of Fuji/Hakone covered many activities (Fuji, Hakone, boat ride, ropeway & lunch), so we booked the 1-day tour with them. The tour was efficient, and the tour guy was amusing and informative throughout the whole trip there. It was a shame that Fuji-san was hiding behind fog and clouds today. It's also a shame that the tour suffered from the gawd-awful, crying baby syndrome. I think families with children under...7 years old should be banned from tours. The area is about an hour and half away from Tokyo, and is a beautiful area. If it were 2-3 weeks from now, it would be even more lovely. They are saying that the hot summer has delayed the colorful foliage. Ah well, we'll have to come back another season. The tour guy mentioned that February is the best time to see Fuji since the sky is the most clear that month. We also went up the Tokyo Metro Gov't building for a night view of the city. Ah ha, that's where the homeless people are (under the walkway to the gov't building).
Tomorrow, Totoro and Namja. I hear there's a Kuroshitsuji event...is it worth visiting?
