Amused

I have been enjoying how the Asian business majors are kicking arse on the Food Truck competition on Foodtv. The first week they simply parked at a farmer's market and did their thing while the other trucks spent time driving around pointlessly. This week, everyone got a huge piece of cow. While a couple contenders knew how to cut it and others wrangled with it, the asians took it to a grocery store and had it cut there.

I am also amused at how lj thinks that they should hang on the coattails of Facebook and Twitter, but are ignorant to the kinds of users that are on lj. Any normal blogger would love having crossposting links like the below (from a food blog I follow)...
Photobucket

But lj users aren't quite the normal crowd of bloggers. And yeah, no worries, not using those new buttons to crosspost comments.

Yea, maybe I belong to the 'other' kind of blogger, the kind like the food blog that you read, 'cause I don't understand the fuss about cross-posting. I think a good % of LJ users thought it was being too quiet around here that a new furor was necessary.

:) Admittedly, it would have been nice for them to have it as an optional feature rather than non-voluntary. I think lj users treasure their supposed anonymity. I always felt that nobody really uses lj as a true personal blog that they'd want real life people to trace to them (outside a few fandom friends), so whenever there's a change that may invade privacy issues, there's backlash.
