I find Harry/Ginny at least as convincing on screen as it is on the page, since the movies have gone out of their way to shoot the two of them like they're intensely connected, and they've been doing it since the CoS movie. Ginny isn't pretty in the books, and if she was ravishing, I'd be, well, disturbed?
Yeah, more Harry x Snape or just Snape. *sigh* Alan Rickman...
I think the last movie that really tried to be accessible to non-fans was CoS (not coincidentally, the last Columbus-directed flick). There's just too much going on in the books after that to take any approach but the one they have, imo.
