Saw this piece on the news about the 'sixth sense' cell phone created by students at MIT which reminded me of last week's episode of Eden of the East where the characters had created the image recognition program on their cell phone. The news had examples of where you can point the cell at toilet paper, and see if it was environmentally friendly *rolls eyes*. I think the anime said that Saki had written value into images of junk. The part that paralleled each other the most was when they pointed the cell to people's faces and you got their info (in the anime, people were registered online). I'm not sure where the real-life recognition is pulling info from; Facebook?..ha. The anime said that that part turned into a matchmaking offshoot which I would assume the real-life counterpart would head if they wanted to reach the biggest and most troublesome market. Anyway..just an interesting news bit.
