Yakuza like suits.

Shiroi Haru 1! jdrama. This is about a former yakuza member who is released from prison only to find out that the woman he tried to save died despite his efforts which landed him in prison. Must admit that Abe Hiroshi's dramas always have pretty interesting set-ups, and that his way of playing slightly scary, quirky men is kinda cute. The first episode introduces Sakura Haruo, played by Abe Hiroshi, who tries to find the cause of his former lover's death. He exerts his revenge on the guy she was seeing before she died. The guy is a baker who is taking care of a child and living with the dead lover's sister. There's also a couple of young runaways thrown into the story; the female takes a strange liking to Haruo. It seems little Japanese school kids carry alarms with them in case weirdos are near. Logical, I suppose.

Atashinchi no Danshi 1! jdrama. Watched this with bumpybear, but without subs. We weren't sure it was a 'real' marriage since the guy was so old and all. Mineta Chisato played by Horikita Maki is a homeless young woman on the run from the yakuza after her father ran off owing them 1 million yen. A toymaker saves her by repaying the money, and also tricks her into marriage. He also tricks her into teaching his adopted sons about family after he passes away. This is a cute comedy with fan-favorite hot actors.

There seems to be several interesting jdramas to watch this season. There're two more that I want to sample. One doesn't start until mid-May. There weren't any kdramas that sounded good, but I do want to finish up Painter. Hm...drama fun.

yay, i like abe hiroshi dramas

i rewatched the beginning of atashinichi no danshi w/ subs ... i think they actually did get married??? but maybe he was sick or something. still kind of ick.
