Code Geass R2 25! the end. For such an obnoxious story with the most arrogant characters, Code Geass was so very enjoyable. ~9/10 rating~ minus one because I have no desire to rewatch it anytime soon--well, maybe this last episode will get another viewing. :)

The only fanservice missing in episode 25 was nude girls. You've got a gay pride parade bondage though; Schneizel and Nunnally in kink-gear. They even threw a lovely Lelouch x Suzaku moment that made me think of Seishirou x Subaru. Kanon got another 'No. 1 uke' scene. Orange's fate in an orange grove was cute. I'm glad Sayako is alive somewhere....hopefully in the orange grove, too. I'm also glad Lelouch ended everything on his own terms successfully. Although the final scene screams, 'Lelouch is that guy driving the hay cart,' to the fans in denial, I think Suzaku as Zero stabbing Emperor Lelouch was appropriate as well as mostly expect (see latter ramblings). It was a lovely scene complete with cross imagery.

The only character I truly liked was Sayako, the loyal super-maid. Lelouch, Suzaku and C.C. were complex and interesting characters that you'd cheer for or against, but not exactly ones that you'd want to hug.

In reference to the production, the animation was pretty high quality most of the time. The low quality moments weren't too bad; definitely not like as bad as Macross F's bad moments. The music was okay. I didn't like any of the opening or ending songs, but during the episodes, the bgm music served its purpose. The action scenes were pretty good. Not as wow as Macross F or even Gundam 00, but the last few fights were great.

The fanservice and the resulting wank was fun. The anime really covered every type of fanservice available; nudity, loli, homo-homo, crack, wtf, girls-w/-guns, large phallic mech-things, etc. I'm sure the fandom will live quite long after today. Clamp's character designs also served its purpose, and cosplayers will have a tons of nice outfits from which to choose.

The Pizza Hut pimping was an unexpected touch. Finding a large, stuffed, affordable Cheese-kun will probably be a life-long goal of mine. It looks so squishy.

The initial story, Brittania versus Japan/11, was one that made people wonder how the writers were going to pull it off. The resulting past versus present versus future was also engaging. Charles and Marianne once again prove that anime parents are basically useless...well, the fact that Ougi and Villetta are parents also prove that statement. Poor Schneizel was still geassed at the end. Hopefully he and Kanon are still a couple. The whole matyr vibe presented itself quite early on in the series (due to some of the mech names and other in-your-face religious connotations), and there was no other way everyone could have lived happily without someone taking all the blame. C'mon, C.C. as Mary Magdalene, Suzaku as Judas....very expected, but I enjoyed watching to see what else the writers wanted to mix into the series.

Anyway, because CLAMP's name was smattered all over this show, CLAMP will have to create a darn fantabulous ending to X. Code Geass took the recreate-the-world plot plus what's-your-true-wish plot and made it satisfying or at least memorable. There seems to be a good number of people who hated that Lelouch was 'killed' off. Bah, sure he can be the hay cart guy if you want.

Man, my rambling is pretty ugly. Ah well. Fun anime. The end. Until they decide that they could make more cash and do another version via movie or something. I really have no desire to read the manga, novels or whatnot, but there seemed to be alot of side stories that other fans have read that make the side characters more appealing. *zzz* I ended up liking both Lelouch and Suzaku at the very end.
