What I learned from watching today's drama:
Cross-dressing will let you meet your one true love and see him naked.

while waiting for Hanakimi...

#1 Coffee Prince Shop episode 1 kdrama. Go Eun Chan played by Yoon Eun Hye (the female lead from Goong) is a young girl who is often mistaken for a boy; example- while delivering jajang noodles *mmm* to a female spa, all the women throw stuff at her thinking that she is a boy peeping at them.

She also pretends to be her younger sister's older brother. In the episode, she has a disgusting jajang eating contest with some annoying guy who likes her little sister. The yogurt mixing scene was thoroughly gross. As expected, Eun Chan's family is poor.

I think her sister is sewing fake Keroro Gunso plushies in that one scene. Their mother also loses a customer's expensive ring.

Enter Choi Han Gyul whose actor I am not familiar with. He is the rich, arrogant playboy character and is being pressured into marriage by his parents/grandparents. He also has a rather pimp-like shadow-moustache and looks too old for Eun Chan. His family owns some sort of coffee bean producing place...thus, the coffee reference. Eun Chan delivers jajang to Han Gyul who had just gotten out of the shower...and peeks under his towel. *pervy* She later meets him again when she foils a purse-snatching and returns the purse to bland girl. She loses her job since she broke her scooter during that incident.

Han Gyul's friend (cousin?) is Han Sung, the nice, angst-ridden other male who pines for the last character, the bland, rich, pretty girl, Yu Ju. Han Sung is the one who knows Eun Chan is a girl. (fixed the names...oops)

So you have the poor girl, the rich arrogant boy, the angsty rich boy and the rich girl (essential kdrama ingredients). The two boys like the rich girl. Rich girl likes ansty boy. Arrogant boy develops feelings for poor girl, but has doubts since he thinks she is a boy. How's the writing? eh. The setting? eh. The music? non-existent. Sooooo what's the catch?

Han Gyul offers Eun Chan a job as his boyfriend. Is it funny? well, the first episode had a couple moments of hehe, but no, it's not funny. All the potential for comedy is there, but isn't utilized in a way to make you really laugh. There's nothing remarkable about the characters or anything great about the acting. The preview for the next episode looks better, but with these particular actors in the standardly blah kdrama set-up, I probably won't watch anymore.
