seichanCode Geass 21-22!
*spoilers* Euphie, the most inane character on the show, casts off her totally useless status by first, declaring a neutral zone for the Japanese which totally trashes the whole entire plot of the show and the whole purpose of Zero. And then, she becomes geass-ed into insanity and tries to kill all the Japanese. Now THAT is what I call character redemption.
Although that incident recovers the show's black and white, it totally marred Lelouch's character. He's the hero of Japan, but was the one who caused the massacre. As people have said, he's the Yagami Light of the show; it's clear that he is wrong in his methods and he is annoyingly arrogant, but you keep watching anyway. He almost redeemed himself when he wanted to work with Euphie and when he shed a tear...almost. He is totally losing that eye. I think Nunnally has some geass-y powers, too...maybe that's why she has her eyes closed rather than the reason of trauma.
I think I am the only one who likes Suzaku. Can't blame the guy for pure ignorance.
Anyway, although the show doesn't make much sense, it's enjoyable for the pure fanservice and the attempts at being controversial.
I do hope Shirley is the next to get axed.
ETA: hm, between this and Tsubasa spoilers, all the cutesy, pure females with power better watch out.
