Another Tuesday
Mar. 13th, 2007 10:03 pmMusic seems to always come out on Tues/Wednesdays. I guess sales-wise it makes sense.
Mr.Children's Home album just came out. They are also approaching their 15th anniversary (hm..all the groups I like are approaching their 10th or 15 anniversary...hmmm) They have another compilation album out in May called B-side which contains their b-sides. I like their music. There's a comfortable, classic sound to them; perfect music for tv dramas.
The tracklist for Home (the website has sample clips)
1.Sakebi Inori ~instrumental piece
2.Wake me up! ~good fast opening, but not quite to my liking
3.Irodori
4.Houkiboshi ~very wonderful world sounding, cUte pv
5.Another Story
6.PIANO MAN ~features a little bit of jazzy horns
7.Motto ~weakest song
8.Yawarakai Kaze ~features alot of string sounds
9.Fake ~PV - the harshest song on the album, but not really
10.Poketto Kasutanetto ~a weird kind of lullaby..maybe angels in the background
11.SUNRISE
12.Shirushi ~pretty ballad, live)
13.Toori Ame ~head-bobbing music
14.Anmari oboetenai ya ~might be a little too sweet an ending for me
~7/10 rating~
Mika Nakashima's Yes album also came out. Fond of her voice, not always liking her song choices. This album has quite a range of music styles and unlike her previous albums, this one makes me like her music a little more.
Tracklist
1. I LOVE YOU(Album Ver.) ~version with gospel singers...*gag*, the original is very nice
2. Mienai Hoshi ~pretty ballad
3. Sunao na mama ~I like this one..easy to remember
4. CRY NO MORE ~another gospel-flavored song with a horrid chorus
5. ALL HANDS TOGETHER ~an attempt at a Hurricane Katrina tribute, she makes a scary black woman and doesn't quite say New Orleans too well (youtube pulled all the pvs for this song...why? the other ones are up)
6. DANCE WITH THE DEVIL ~wow, a pop song, very likable
7. BLACK & BLUE ~reminds me of christina aguilera singing a supremes song? brack and brue...hm?
8. JOY ~must be a cover, cute song sung in english
9. THE DIVIDING LINE
10. MY SUGAR CAT ~cute title, kinda boring song
11. Yogoreta Hana ~It's a familiar religious song in the disguise of pop.
12. GOING BACK HOME ~hey, folksy with a harmonica? & a clip-clop beat
13. Kinenka ~melody somewhat like the blues, but progresses into something better
14. WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD ~Louis Armstrong cover, her english is ok, but being someone fluent(haha) in english, the mistakes mar the song.
~7/10 rating~
Penicillin released Blue Heaven...last week or so. Sounded old. The only songs that I liked were the ones where they didn't sound like themselves. growing out of heavy metal..oh noes.
