Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo (Uraboku) 1! The main character had a sex-change for the sake of BL.

- Is it me or do BL shows get the worst theme songs.
+ JC Staff (think Loveless)
- Terrible dialogue
+ Awesome cast of seiyuu

Quick impression~ The characters look like they came out of Vampire Knight (uke's name is 'Yuki'...coincidence?) BUT the production is SOOOO much better (at least for the first episode). On the other hand, it's like they took the dialogue right out of a Writing for Dramas Aimed at Chicks 101 textbook. Yuki, your typical, adored, good-looking high school kid, is trying to find his place in the world. The 'darkness' is after him and the whole world or something like that. A tall, dark man in a whooshy coat saves him when the darkness tries to get Yuki smooshed in a traffic accident. Yuki's heart goes 'doki doki'. I'm certainly watching for the eye-candy and because it is so laughably terrible.

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin 1! Madhouse does grit and gore best. If only Kobato was a prostitute on the side.

+/- Oguri Shun for Oguri Shun fans
+/- Okay production
+/- Undecided about the story and characters

Quick impression~ I wasn't going to watch this since 'seven juvenile delinquents at a detention camp' didn't sound attractive at all, but the opening was intriguing...optimistic. In the first episode, 6 kids picked up for bouts of violence and theft are sent to a detention center where they meet humiliation from their captors, and unexpected kindness from a cellmate. I suppose that fantasy violence that you see in Hagaren versus violence based on history (albeit fictional characters) can't compare. There aren't gallons of blood flying in the air, but still, ick. Some other anime bloggers make it out to be worse that what they actually show. I don't expect this to be on top of my list of things to entertain myself with since it is depressing, but I might marathon the rest of the episodes one rainy day.

Durarara 13! New likable op/ed plus time jump and new characters. The episode was narrated by Anri. There was some time spent on Celty who is being chased by an out-of-town cop, and Shinra's father makes another appearance. Anri talks about how nothing has changed until she witnesses a new character, the slasher, first hand.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 52! speaking of gallons of blood, mmm, more good fighting. Al and Yoki get to shine. Riza has a good scene coming up.
