seichan..another shopping holiday.
Got some nice presents for Xmas; nothing that would interest my f-list...haha.
Anyway, had today off and watched~
Nodame Cantabile 11! the last lesson. There were many, many excellent tear-jerker moments; the sunset scene..*sweet*..the last strains of the concert...*weep*...the close-ups of Chiaki..*swoon*.
so cute!
The weakest part of the drama was that they never got to develop the side characters much, BUT they served as good eye-candy. The physical comedy, great choices in music and spot-on casting made this one of my favorite dramas ever. All the characters were very likable especially Masumi and Mine and they were quite faithful to the mangaka's original work (only the minute-est of details left out.)
..misses this drama already. I started reading the manga. Del Rey's release schedule looks like 3-5 months between each volume. The recent volume being 7 where Nodame researches hypnosis. Outside of the ugly title font, the manga itself is ok. There're footnotes and endnotes for all the technical and japanese info. It's not a manga that you can pick up and enjoy right away; the drawing is plain and musical knowledge is almost a must. The drama very much brought to life the manga. The anime is slated for 23 episodes thus far, which doesn't seem like it will get them much farther in the manga than the drama did. but with anime, another season is more likely if the anime becomes popular.
(Hopes Hanadan will return just as strong and fill the drama void).

Viz gets Hachikuro...is this new news? or was that Viz Europe that had the license first? Haven't kept up on which companies are good licensors...so yeah, maybe?
