Photo inpho
Nov. 10th, 2006 06:35 pmAfter many, many years of not printing any digital photos, I created many new accounts and got it all free...except for the shipping. Here's a review of the places I used. (I sent one same file to 2 places)
Shutterfly
Snapfish
Adorama
Packaging~
1. Shutterfly had the best. It was colorful, cute envelope with a window and had an index print with symbols that told you stuff like 'low resolution' or 'underexposed'...to explain your sucky photography skills.
2. Adorama had a standard envelope with lame graphics.
3. Snapfish also had a colorful, cute envelope, but it was a cheap thin one.
Print quality~
1. Shutterfly had rich colors and the prints looked as they appeared on-screen.
2. Snapfish also had nice colors.
3. The one print I sent to Shutterfly and Adorama came out a tiny bit lightened and noticeably wash-out from Adorama. I should have sent that same one to Snapfish...darn.
Paper quality~ got whatever came with the free prints and the difference is miniscule.
- Adorama uses Kodak.
- Snapfish uses Kodak.
- Shutterfly uses Fujifilm.
Shipping price~ (standard mail)
1.97 at Snapfish (for 20 prints)
1.99 at Shutterfly (for 20 prints)
4.95 at Adorama (flat rate)
Print price~ got the 4x6 size
.12 at Snapfish
.19 at Adorama
.19 at Shutterfly
Turnaround~
Adorama was the fastest at 5 business days.
Websites~
All were easy to use..have to admit Snapfish is the cutest. Adorama is the least cute but functional and Shutterfly is in-between.
Anyway, I guess I could have gone to Target or Walmart, but these sites had good free print deals depending on what codes you can find. From 15 free to 50 free...yippee.
Who will I use the next time I get things developed?...haha, one of the other dozen online print shops that offer free prints.
Probably Target when I run out of online places to set new accounts up at...and when I want specialty, high quality things, there's a place in the city that I usually trust.
