seichanWas clicking around and saw someone who recced a Jem and the Holograms fanfic. *nostagia* I would've expected a revival of that title in the form of an OEL manga or live-action movie or something by now.
Anyway...
Death Note 4! In some cases it's better or worse to have the anime edit the manga; for example, Ouran was more enjoyable as an anime while Full Moon wo Sagashite majorly laxed in the anime form. Then you have those anime that bring the manga to life as it should be like Hikaru no Go and some of Naruto. Death Note is also one that follows the manga pretty closely and represents it's style as it should be. I guess the anime would be very exciting for someone who's never read the manga, but for someone who has read it all, the major plot points are already known...and I'm just waiting for the munchies and tennis. In this episode, Light tests out his Death Note some more and is in the process of eliminating the FBI agent who was following him. BTW, Ray Penbar has nice eyes.
Code Geass 4! Since one of the main screenplay and series composition people also developed Gundam Seed, I think he is having fun with redoing his own work and interacting with the Clamp pretty boys. Although it seems it is supposed to seem serious & dramatic, there are too many over-the-top elements that make me believe that it is just mocking itself and the topics it addresses. In episode 4, Lulu develops his batman-outfit, atobe-entrance and an elaborate rescue plan. He saves his Suzaku, but his buddy wants to change Brittania from the inside. Poor Lulu...no luvin with the mask. Next episode...the girls..oh no, the girls...the pink-haired, balloon-filled girl.
And real-life education has taught me that mind-numbing boredom can be alleviated with home-made cookies. especially a few dozen varieties..many with chocolate.
And dear American caterer, a meal should not be a big, fat slab of meat 90% the size of the plate with a ring of uncooked fat and white, wiggly vein. Foodtv has taught me to appreciate the pink and blood part, but *ah~ cookies*.
