a tsa agent tried to give me his email addy...s'nice to be assured of one's own attractiveness every now and again...ha.
Ursula LeGuin's crit of Gedo Senki reads well. I like its truthfulness and insight. I like the tidbit about it not being released in the USA until at least 2009. (thus, giving the pirates better business.)
Dance*Drill, a new jdrama, is basically Bring it On japanese style. A group of aimless girls form a cheerleading squad and enter a tournament.
+ The theme song, Shamrock, by UVERworld is nice.
+ There may be some cute dancing and cheering.
- Too many young girls trying to be overly sweet.
- Too many young girls trying to be whiny and angsty.
Conclusion: I would have enjoyed this 10 years ago.
Naruto part 2 will begin at episode 200 with the Kakashi Gaiden. *weep weep* tears of joy.
Honey and Clover II 7! is too depressing to write about. +++ good episode.
...and one more review
(edited 8/20)BLU's Earthian volume 4 by Yun Kouga concludes the manga series with the background stories of Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Lucifiel. Be warned of boy-love, girl-love, incestual love and plain ol' hetero-love ahead. There's even a bit of feet licking and nudity. haha, just a tad racier than the previous volumes. This is a shorter volume that includes a few color pages and alot of extra author-comics from the original release. All in all, consistently good printing by BLU makes me terribly sad that Loveless wasn't handed over to the BLU label. The story gives the reader a view into different points in time before Chihaya and Kagetsuya became partners. As one can easily guess, Lucifel's fall is a sort of trigger in the black cancer story. She has 'ties' between Michael and Gabriel as does Raphael, but with more restraint. It's a nice love-quadrangle. The chapters entitled 'The Secret Garden 5 & 6' are clearly the most recent chapters and probably were added in 2002 when the reprint edition was released. Great revelations and a beautiful new drawing technique are presented. Yun Kouga's composition is really beautiful there and the lines more confident. *ah nice hair and wings* This is the style that carries into 'Loveless'. The actual epilogue-styled chapters come after those chapters. It would be nice if all english-language manga releases were given the careful attention that this manga seemed to get. I didn't catch any glaring errors or awkward translations , but feel free to inform me of them should they exist. although it'd be nice to not think 'grr, editors' for once. hm...that review wasn't really telling. The only things in the series that I wasn't fond of minor characters. Their stories seems awkward at times.
