out and about
Feb. 19th, 2005 02:25 pmwent to the developing new thing in the city. the southside works which is across from the river from the city jail and across the street from the goodwill. so far there are about 3 main stores and a couple restaurants. that cheesecake factory there is big. big compared to the other cheesecake factorys that i've seen. the joseph-beth bookstore disappointingly did not have unique books and did not have new releases in genre outside of popular fiction. although, it did have an impressive collection of purses from vera bradley and other cute non-book things. i saw that they took off the shrink-wrap from the yaoi manga. excellent idea. urban outfitters has some cool things. i like the tapestry fabrics. very chic. i think i've been surfing around too many crafty blogs, cause they looked like very crafty. it's a nice area. it will be pretty cool once they get the other shops in. most of the shops are ones not found in the local malls and the movie theater claims that they'll show art films.
then i went to the mall to use up a gift card. i noticed that all the CMX manga were clumped together with the C part of the alphabet. didn't pick up any manga this time, just got a cute shirt.
then i went home and made those popovers from the blog that i mentioned in the previous post. YUM! turned out super. very fluffy. not sweet. mmmmm.
one more midterm left.
