over the weekend...

watched shaolin soccer again. so funny and heartwarming. love the ugly girl. i only wished she stayed ugly.

watched fruits basket again. was horrified to find out that the subtitles were actually the dubbed dialogue. blech funimation, you go on my to-smack list. as usual, the dub didn't come off sincere and smooth..and was laughable in inappropriate places and the translation of course, was edited, wrong in places, and eh, overall disappointing. furuba is one of my favorite anime. if i wanted an edited, americanized text, i would not be watching the japanese dialogue with subtitles. anyway, i'm glad i didn't get the actual dvds *smirks* lookout full metal alchemist, bad subtitles are out to get you. (ok, they aren't that bad...)

watched spiderman 2 ie. the many expressions of tobey macguire. if the spiderman movies didn't have tobey, i probably wouldn't watch. his acting abilities and facial expressions make my head explode.

hm, saw that blockbuster has online rental...like netflix. i wonder how many movies i rent a month. if i did rent 3 or more a month, it'd be worth participating. plus, they have more selection than the local video places.

Sorry to post a random comment, but there are actually 2 english subtitle options for the Fruits Basket DVD. There's the dubtitle as you mentioned, but there's also the real subtitle option which I thought was very well done. I think it's better if you go through the DVD menus instead of picking the subtitles through the remote.
