made some homemade doughnuts and crabmeat dip. the dip was yummy, but the recipe made too much and nobody around here likes my cooking much. i'd make the dip again for a party or something. mmm, mmm. i think the doughnuts were ok. maybe the flour was stale. can flour get stale or expired? maybe if the container was not airtight? anyway, the doughnuts had a not great taste and i think it was due to the flour. i also cut the recipe in half but added an extra egg since there didn't seem to be enough moisture. i will have to find a better doughnut recipe. this one was found in a gourmet living magazine. maybe it would have tasted better with gourmet ingredients. gourmet flour, gourmet sugar, gourmet vanilla...etc. back to the crab dip, i baked it and it was good warm. there are alot of crab dip recipes that leave it cold, so all the extra will be going in the fridge. yay, snacks.
i may not cook from scratch for another couple months. maybe around xmas, i will try a cookie recipe.
went to a diner over the weekend. they cooked right over the counter. we sat at the counter and saw that everything was cooked in butter. mmmm. it tasted good.
