Ouran Host Club live-action movie 2012! was as mah-velously corny as the tv drama. When Haruhi realizes her feelings for Tamaki and has the daydream? Hilarious. The movie is basically a spin on the last anime arc. I haven't really read any substantial part of the manga other than the last few chapters, but I'm pretty sure this story is a stand-alone. The movie takes place during a school festival where there is a contest between the school clubs in which the winner gets the main salon as their club room. The competition between the host club and the American football club heats up; yes, the football club is quite moronic. A young ojou-san is a guest at the school and makes moves on Tamaki...blah, blah. Her brother is played by the ever-talented 2PM's Nickun...(he's kinda terrible at acting). ~7/10 rating~ There was nothing extraordinary about the production beyond what was seen in the tv drama, so in terms of visuals, it was a little of a let-down. Even so, it was still enjoyable.

Why am I watching this?

Berserk - Golden Age Chapter II - The Capture of Doldrey jmovie! picks up where the first left off as the Band of Hawks continue their string of victories for the king; a big victory at Doldrey as the title suggests. Guts saves Casca which makes them friendlier towards each other. Unfortunately, after the king knights them all for deeds well done, Guts decides that it is time to move on despite Griffith's claim on him. Griffith in the manner of all bad bromance break ups, sleeps with the princess...while thinking of Guts...yeah, that kind of bromance. Anyway, there was a peephole in the princess's door. The king is informed, captures and tortures Griffith. The Band is gathered in a field to be slaughtered. The second movie continues to be filled with flying body parts and animated nudity. The CGI was a tad clumsy at times, but overall, the story is still oddly intriguing. I'm still waiting for the supernatural parts of the story to come to light..guessing that the third/last movie might venture into some of that judging by the trailer.
