Mawaru Penguindrum 16! Natsume's story is of course, weird like everything else in this series. It's also pretty funny. When she was younger, she used to dream of crazy ways to kill her grandfather whom she blamed for her absent father. I didn't really get why her little brother, Mario, was possessed and where Kanba came from, but hopefully, they fill that part in later on. The survival strategy scene with the maid was amusing, too.

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi S2 4! Hatori takes care of a clueless Chiaki. One day Chiaki gets jealous and runs to Yuu. If Yuu had a little more personality, I might feel sorry for him. There's more Hatori x Chiaki smut off-screen. Not much to this couple, but they are sweet in their cluelessness. Thinking back to the Junjou series, those couple revolved around couples with large age differences. The Sekaiichi couples are about the same age..with the slight exception of Kisa and Yukina. I don't think the Sekaiichi couples are as funny as the Junjou couples and it might be the lack of age humor. Btw, Junjou Mistake getting animated? Awesome. Yokozawa's story (in manga form)...with a single father...even better. Can't wait.

Macross Frontier ~Sayonara no Tsubasa~ movie! The 2nd of the two movies is finally out. Sheryl and Ranka's concert scenes are impressive. If nothing else, the movie is worth watching for the sensory overload. The CGI and production are wonderful during the concerts and battles. Yoko Kanno's songs are catchy, too. The first movie and second movie took the tv series' love triangle and alien battle and filtered the fillers and mess. The movies are pretty good at cutting all the side character stories, but good to see that *spoilers*

*spoilers* all the good guys survive. *major spoilers* One of the conclusive story elements the movie addressed was the love triangle. Alto does choose Sheryl (he doesn't choose either in the tv series); c'mon Ranka is like 13? Tough choice there. *even bigger spoilers* but there a twist at the end. I think the Vajra queen took Alto to procreate; not sure about the logistics there...haha. The humans got a new planet. The aliens got a pretty boy. I think it's a fair trade. Anyway, although the characters in general are rather cut&paste anime characters, the visual & music production are sweet and worth the watch. I'm sure watching this in the theaters would be quite an experience. ~8/10 rating~ for these movies. These are movies that should actually be in 3D. By the end, I think Sheryl, Ranka and Alto are ok characters on their own. The romantic conflict between a Fairy, Cinderella and Princess wasn't so believable; maybe there should have been a beauty pagent or something.
