More kissy faces

Junjou Romantica 1! Refreshingly, this is not fake boy-love...like xxxHolic, Gundam 00, Monochrome Factor, Nabari no Ou...and I'm guessing that is why many anime fans will stay very far away from this.



+ Great animation by Studio Deen..that is, for a yaoi series.
- Actually, Usami sorta looks weird at times.
+ Great seiyuu..glad to hear a gay Kakashi (Miyagi) and gay Yuuri (Misaki).
+ Not the pling-plong cheap music that you typically hear from yaoi series. (I actually like the opening, Kimi=Hana, by pigstar)
+ Cute, simple plot...with cute blushing, touching...& groping...*cough*
- Seems like they will make it very dark during the NC-17 parts.

Quick summary ~ A poor student having trouble with his studies stays with his brother's best friend who is a writer of novels and yaoi. In the manga, they simply have a ton of sex. In the anime...there are unknown things going on in the dark shadows. There are 2 other couples that this series focuses on; an assistant professor & med-student and a professor & a student. Don't worry, everyone is at least 18...I think.



Quick opinion ~ I find the manga to be fairly humorous and enjoy the anger management issues. I found the anime to be quite cute. A little relieved that this isn't too far into the porn genre since I doubt two nekid cartoon guys doing it would ever be attractive...actually, hm, any nekid cartoon characters doing those things...probably not tasteful at all...though I wonder if Shoji Kawamori (Macross F director) could make it attractive? ..eh.
