and so another year begins.
Jan. 2nd, 2008 06:28 pmWhere did my long weekend go? *cries*

Minami-ke 13! the end of season uno. A new year's episode as Kana actually comes out on top. Her kohai experiments keep going, and she's the only one to avoid getting knocked out by suspicious fruit juice. Hosaka's laugh is creepy. This was a surprisingly delightful series. ~8/10 rating~ for great humor. It could have used a boost in animation quality, but the next season looks like it does get an upgrade in production.

Kino no Tabi Byouki no Kuni -For You- movie! The second movie is another 30-ish minute self-contained story. The animation had some nice cgi and overall more detail such as in Kino's hair; shiny. Kino travels to a world of skyscrapers, but as the title suggests, some of the residents are infected with a disease. Kino befriends an infected girl and finds out the city's secret. I recall there being only one world in which Kino was tempted to stay. Ah well, good stories are good stories even if they are slight downers. ~8/10 rating~ for this movie. The author's other stories, the Allison & Lilia series, seem to have very positive reviews. Many mention that they are more action-packed. I look forward to the new anime in the spring.
