kirito + symphony = ?

Kirito's Period single features his collaboration with the Disney orchestra or the New Tokyo City Symphony. Unlike Hyde's foray with the symphony, Kirito didn't really change his songwriting style, but rather had the strings fill the background of one of his tunes. The PV clarifies the symphony's purpose as one can see ah ha! the strings are building up the angst (*weep* the loss of a great band). It might've been nice to actually use one violin in that piece as the PV depicts. The c/w track, Exit, is weird as the orchestra fills the space with Beauty & the Beast/Harry Potter-esque John Williamsy moments. Kirito's voice isn't the kind that is easily placed in different musical situations so maybe these tunes would be more readily accepted if you aren't a fan. It's also not a great song for a nonfan..nor is the PV interesting. Anyway, 'Period' is growing on me...slowly. now that's an amibiguous rec..ha.



Olivia inspri' Reira's Wish PV features her romping around like a rock star. The average likable song has a slightly boring PV which is very similar to her first Reira PV.

Tatsuhisa Suzuki's Turn of My Life album clearly says 'I make anime songs.' I think it is the instrumentation and some of the digital noise choices that stylize this into that particular sort of happy pop. In this case, it is an enjoyable thing. His album includes songs from Tideline Blue and Sukisho. Tatsuhisa has a nice voice and all of his simple tunes are pleasant to listen to. I especially like 'Voice' and 'yesterdays'. He's also done some seiyuu work; one being a man in episode 9 on xxxHOLiC.

sad news: House won't be on again until Oct 31st...darn baseball.


good news: The end of Ouran Koukou Host Club was really adorable...more on that when subs are out.
