another april, another impressive rainfall.

i seem to thrive on incompetence and stupidity. maybe i find it fun. years and years ago i should have bought myself photoflood bulbs...i only waited til i exhausted all other possiblities before using the best possible solution. (luv how i wasted all that film and money) i'm stubborn like that.

had a list of like 4-5 books i thought i should read. this time i went to the bookstore before slurging online. good thing. i found they were all horrible books. i wonder if that da vinci code book is really as good as everyone says. i really would like a good book of alice neel paintings...

from jocy

did the pictures come out well? i want to see!

i thought the da vinci code was interesting in how he wove in random religious theories and art history, not knowing much about either topic. it ended kind of "eh" though.

try reading "the curious incident of the dog in the night time". very interesting. and short, bonus.

FUWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

_THE DA VINCI CODE_ IS THE WORST BOOK IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE! THE WORST! Jocelyn is being way, way, waaaaay too nice to it. Brown's weaving of theory would be fine, if he had actually been the one to weave it. However, he was not. It was previously woven by (several) other people (check out _Holy Blood, Holy Grail_, for instance). Scholars, mostly. Stupid scholars. Do not buy this book, unless you're out of toilet paper. Worst. Ever. Wooo. Even worse than _Tuesdays with Morrie_ and _The Five People You Meet in Heaven_, which , generally speaking, are enough to make me embarrassed to be a human being.

I liked the Da Vinci Code. Don't really know or care about the accuracy or originality of the whole weaving of theories about things thing, but I found it entertaining to try to figure things out as I was reading this thing. Thing.

Curious Incident is great. For non-fiction, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them is funny. Al Franken cracks me up. I'm smart enough, I'm strong enough, and doggone it, people like me.
