I'm going to have to read the book again because Stardust was certainly not like this. I thought the story was rather soupy and promptly stuck the book in the dark part of the bookshelf, BuT the trailer looks very super-duper.
Ah, that's because you made the mistake of reading the novel. Stardust was originally a four-part graphic novel, illustrated by the incomparable Charles Vess, before Gaiman turned it into a prose-only cash cow novel. I once owned both, but promptly jettisoned the novel, but will never give up the GN. The trailer looks very much like Vess's book:)
