Samurai's have afros, too

Afro Samurai 1! is what you get when some American executives discover aneemay and try to profit from it. Or what you get when Samuel L. Jackson wants to create animation. Basically, a young boy sees his father lose to an unnamed challenger who takes the title of No. 1/god from his father. The young boy grows up for revenge and to get the title back. Explicit violence and gore ahead. Despite its gorey scenes, it's obvious that this is a comedy or mockery of japanese samurai shows. "Afro" is what they call the main character. He drinks lemonade with a special straw that he carries with him. The animation is high quality but seems to be a big waste of Gonzo's talent. The voice acting is eh, ok. The dialogue is too corny to be serious or funny and there are odd pauses. In the first episode, he kills a whole bunch of challengers and is poisoned by one at the end..dum dum dum.
