Quick impressions of the new season's anime....(I think the only positive thing about the season is the interesting titles)

Mekakucity Actors 1! is about a NEET who has an annoying virtual female pc companion. One day, he accidentally spills soda on his computer which forces him to go out and get a new one. The store he goes into is being robbed by...the Joker's gang...and through some random people with special powers and his virtual pc, I guess he survives. While not the most intriguing story, SHAFT's production is distinct and clean and has some pretty screencap-worth moments. Dropping due to lack of interest in another NEET-not-being-a-NEET-anymore-story.

Ateliar Escha & Logy 1! is about a couple alchemists belonging to the R&D division. Logy comes from the city/Central area who joins Escha in her hometown. In episode 1 they are assigned to small tasks in the town. This is based on some sort of RPG and the bgm is very remniscent of that type of music. The characters are attractive, but the production is mediocre. The characters are pretty bland, too. It has a nice world that could have decent story potential, but it lost me after the boring episode.

Brynhildr in the Darkness 1! is about a young boy who loses his childhood friend and then finds that years later, a new transfer student looks exactly like her. She ends up revealing special powers to him when she saves his life. Zzzz...

Captain Earth 1! is about a young boy who is good at video games and who wanders into a mysterious place, becomes a 'captain', gets a mech and saves Earth from some invading mechs. The production is pretty good, but it's as generic as it sounds.

Hunter x Hunter 2014 123-126! Octopus versus Welkfin was rather dull, but episode 124's Killua versus Palm was quite lovely. Again, Killua shows his vulnerability when he tries to protect Gon. Killua's tears help Palm remember herself. *weep weep* Netero versus the Ant King takes up most of episodes 125-126 which was mainly Netero being badass and the Ant King being strong, but not showing any real special powers...or any powers that were showy.

Mushishi S2 1-3! still the same quiet, thoughtful stories about a mushishi and his encounters with the nature-related supernatural entities. I think the animation quality has gone up a little, but little else has changed. If you liked it the first go around, you'll like it again.
