Ouran School Host Club manga ch 1-83! with this month's chapter another shoujo manga has finished, but I expect there will be some sort of epilogue special. Admittedly, I wouldn't have picked up this manga if it had not been for the excellent anime. I don't like the mangaka's art style. There's something odd about the way the characters' heads are attached to the body. The faces & chins are off much of the time. Her toning and coloring isn't as aesthetically pleasing as other shoujo artists are.

Anyhow, the story after the anime was pretty fun. The mangaka has a good sense of comedic timing, and there was no real 'bad guy' to bring the light-hearted story down. The conflict between Tamaki and his grandmother didn't cause too much angst for too long. I'm glad the mangaka didn't introduce a bunch of girls to pair off the host club members at the end or something similarly inane. The study-abroad device was cliche, but turns out to be more cute than I thought. I also thought it was cute that the fangirls thought they knew Haruhi's secret, and later found out that what they thought was in error. ~7/10 rating~ While a charming piece of fluff, the anime was the better media for the story. Mamoru Miyano and Maaya Sakamoto really brought the story to life.

Why does Mori have a chicken and an odd-looking raccoon with him at the end?

Denyuuden 13! Hey, a new, improved opening & ending and a nicely animated episode. The episode features Kiefer and her past which revisits why she betrayed Sion & Ryner. She encounters the heroic king, Riphal, of the pink-haired people, Gastak. It's another king willing to sacrifice anything (and kill anyone) to attain peace. He too, has underlings who are after the relics, and use underhanded techniques to help their king. And you wonder why these countries are all at war. Good episode.
