Zombies not on my list

Uraboku 13! Despite Yuki spending most of the episode being in denial, the action was pretty; swooshing capes, flying snow, etc, etc. I'm going to assume Kanata and Takashiro are having a lover's tiff with the lack of background story thus covered. Yuki's flashback was adorable.

The Legend of Legendary Heroes 1! The two main characters have a slight resemblance to Riku and Nino from Arakawa.

Quick impression~ Ryner who has 'Alpha Stigma' eyes (think Kakashi's copy jutsu plus Neji's whatever-eye jutsu) is traveling with Ferris, the bossy, but lax swordswoman, to collect Legendary artifacts(?). There's a variety of other characters randomly introduced. The episode didn't seemed to be planned out well, but the preview promises to fill in some of the past. The show kinda reminds me of Kyou Kara Maou (without the BL), since it's a fantasy story that doesn't take itself too serious. It has potential in that sort of comedy.

High School of the Dead 1! I thought zombie apocalypses are supposed to be cool.

- Zombies, gore, panties, butts, big boobs...
+ Decent Madhouse production

Quick impression~ a show made for the otaku's otaku. There's a zombie infestation at a high school. Blood splatters, boobs bounce, skirts fly up. I'm sure it's already very popular.

Is it the summer of horror? and mediocrity?

Seikimatsu Occult Academy 1! 2012 is going to be a bad year according to the entertainment industry.

Quick impression~ It took about 5 minutes for the show reveal that it is a comedic series. The principal of an 'occult' school dies. His daughter who hates the occult comes to the school to destroy it. The first episode revolves around the principal turning into a zombie. I'm guessing that there's an organization at the school who is using the occult for personal/governmental/military gain, and the daughter, Maya, and the naked boy will stop them. The comedy wasn't really great, but it has potential. Also, gotta appreciate a show that lets you know that boys have genitalia (there was a naked boy in the opening of Legendary Heroes, but he was missing his thing).
